Re: Lost one of my boys on August 28, 2024 to a pheochromocytoma
I cant believe its already been a year since we lost Mario. Its been quite a year and sometimes feels like grieving has been interrupted. Luigi is still with us and is doing pretty good. He has a grade 3-4 heart murmur and has to get his yearly echocardiogram soon. He recently went to the vet because we thought he was breathing heavily. Turns out he ate most of a box of Honey Nut Cheerios and had gas😙
On New Years Eve, we ended up at the emergency vet for Joanna. Her left eye was drippy. By the end of the week, we ended up two and half hours away at a specialty ER vet. The next day, she was blind in both eyes. She was a medical mystery but was eventually diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Her left eye had to be removed in early February because the pressure couldnt be controlled and the ulcer was going to rupture. She is now in remission but still is on her chemotherapy drug. It is wild to me to get chemo by FedEx. It has been an adjustment for all of us but she has been a little trooper.
Anyway, we still miss Mario. Gone too soon but never forgotten.
Beth
