Good Morning:
I have a basset hound recently diagnosed with Cushing's. She takes one 30mg cap q12h. I'm hoping to find a good site for purchase. The best I've found thus far is $52.99 for a 2 week supply.
Thanks,
Susan

Omg, thats expensive! Are you purchasing directly from your vet? thats outrageous!
I found a 30 day supply (30mg) for $52.99 at californiapetpharmacy.com
you may also wamt to check valleyvet.com
Good luck. xo Jeanette
Jeanette, I believe Princess was on once daily dosing so 30 capsules would last 30 days. 30 capsules only lasts 15 days with twice daily dosing. $52.99 is actually a decent price for 30 capsules and I haven't found a site yet that's any cheaper than that.
Yes Glynda, since Princess is sensitive we brought her back down to 10mg once daily, and oops sorry didnt realize Suzi's baby was on twice daily, which then would make sense.
Luv ya. Jeanette
Susan, let me start over here and officially welcome you and your dog to the forum. We would love to hear more about her, what tests were done to diagnose her, what the actual results were of those tests, what symptoms she has, whether she is on any other medication or has any other medical conditions.
I'm sorry that I couldn't be more helpful in directing you to a cheaper source for Vetoryl. Ya know, sometimes us petowners feel like we are being held hostage by drug companies. We pay a fortune for acth stim tests because the stimulating agent is ridiculously expensive and once the FDA approved Vetoryl, the cost skyrocketed. Prior to approval, pet owners could obtain the drug much cheaper directly from the UK with prior approval and a vet's RX. It was a lot of paperwork and in hindsight, I don't think anybody who is paying the ridiculous prices these days would deny that it was well worth it.
Looking forward to hearing more about your girl.
Glynda
Hi Susan,
I want to join Glynda in welcoming you to our family! As she's said, it will be great if you want to tell us more about your dog's medical history and Cushing's diagnosis. As you can see, you are in wonderful company here, and our members will be happy to share additional thoughts and suggestions once they know a bit more about your girl and her situation.

I purchased thirty 30 mg of Vetoryl from Drs Foster and Smith for $55. This was with free shipping.

hello and welcome Suzi. Yes, do please take time to tell us a bit about yourself and your pup.
The other option of course is a compounding pharmacy. If that is an option for you, there are some here who could recommend good ones. I believe they've said that Diamondback (is that the right name gang) has a good reputation.

Wow. Vetoryl is cheap in the States. Over here I pay the equivalent of about 100 US Dollars for a 30 day supply of 60 mg capsules.
Don't I feel ripped off.![]()
