Default Checking in for January 2025

"Checking in" is a topic that we start on the first of each month. We suspect that we have a good number of members who read the messages regularly but who don't post very often. Maybe that's because their dogs are doing well, or they don't have a Cushing's dog anymore, or they haven't got any questions to ask, or maybe they don't feel very comfortable about posting answers to other members' questions. It's perfectly understandable and acceptable for folks to only post once in a while, but when we don't hear from people, many of us find ourselves wondering what those folks have been up to recently and how their dogs are doing.

It's always preferable to post updates about your Cushing's dog in your own thread/topic (especially if you want feedback/replies from other members) but you can also post a quick reply here if you just want to say hi and let everyone know how you are doing in general.

We'd love to hear from you!

I'm new here (thank you for letting me join) and wanted offer this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OIa...erinarySecrets I am not a vet. Just a humble dog lover that wants to share what is working for my Bulldog with Cushing's. I'm following the protocol in the video because it just made sense to me, and it's WORKING! He's only been on it about a month and a half and he's back to being his old self. I will continue the protocol for another 3 months to make sure his tumor is gone. Again just sharing.

I just joined, but I don't see much recent activity? Might I "assume" there is a comparable FB group everyone has migrated to?

    Respectfully,

Hello and welcome! Unfortunately you’re correct that in recent years, a lot of activity has shifted to Facebook sites and away from message boards such as this. I wish this wasn’t the case, because I think that forums such as ours offer a better opportunity for organized and detailed discussion about each individual dog. But it is what it is. I’m not registered on Facebook myself, so cannot give you any first-hand recommendations. However, I’ve been told that this has been an active group so you may want to check it out:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/89435412886/?_rdr

If you do wish to remain here, you’re very welcome to start a thread about your dog here on our Questions and Discussion subforum. I can’t promise a lot of feedback, but there’s a few of us folks who are still here to offer our help and support.

I’ve had the chance to view your YouTube link, and was very interested to learn that the anti parasitic med, Panacur, is being researched as a cancer treatment in both dogs and humans. I had no idea that was the case. As far as the kind of tumors that cause canine Cushing’s, the majority are benign pituitary tumors. So in those cases, no cancer treatment is involved. But we do know that some adrenal tumors can be cancerous, and perhaps that’s the case with your boy?

Once again, if you wish, please feel free to start a new thread that is devoted to your dog. But if you want to search elsewhere for a more active group, I totally understand and wish you and your boy much luck on your journey.

    Best wishes,
    Marianne
