Default Daisy has crossed the bridge

Our dear Daisy Desjardins crossed the Bridge on Saturday, 2/4/17. She was 15 years old and had Cushing's for two years. She started losing weight rapidly over the past few weeks, although was still enjoying life and not showing any signs of pain. Her kidney values were not good at her last checkup, nor was her ultrasound. Saturday morning Daisy began having cardiac problems, trouble walking and for the first time, seemed in pain. So we had to make the decision to let her go. Thank you to the forum, where I rarely posted but used the resources for support and information. We had a superb regular vet and also veterinary specialist who did everything possible for Daisy. We'll miss Daisy so much.

Oh Mari, I'm so sorry, too! Thank you so much, though, for coming back to tell us what has happened so that we can all join you in honoring your sweet girl. Daisy has now been added to our special memorial thread, and we hope it may give you some comfort to know that she will always be remembered here.

We will always welcome you back at any time, as well, to share special memories of your lives together, or just to tell us how you are doing. Once again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Always in loving memory of your sweet Daisy,
    Marianne

Thank you all for your kind words. I know we did the best we could for Daisy, but it still hurts. I am very appreciative of the Forum members and administrators here. I did not post much, maybe once or twice, but read the forum regularly and used the resources provided. I do feel fortunate that we had excellent veterinarians, too. When our regular vet was not sure what was going on or what other tests to order, they immediately referred us to a specialist practice in our city, whose vets had long experience with diagnosing and treating Cushing's. Thank you again, and I hope someday ther is no more Cushing's.

    Dear Mari,

I am so sorry to hear about your sweet girl, Daisy, but I am sure you made the right decision. This act made from a place of love is always the right one and it is obvious you love her dearly. I know Daisy flew from this life on the wings of that love and will hold it in her heart til the day you are reunited.

    Our deepest sympathies,
Leslie, Trinket, Sophie, Fox, Bud and all our Angels

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed
are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special
person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play
until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look
once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Bridge together
    never again to be separated.
