Rich, I am so terribly sorry. I just lost my dog Sammy on Saturday after over a week of not eating, so I know how devastated you must feel. I am taking comfort in the knowledge that he did not suffer much, and I hope you feel the same. May time heal your sorrow and your memories provide you comfort.
