In need of a good vetinariun in the San Diego, California area

Hi my name is Janice Shafer,
I am in need of a good vetenariun that has knowledge of cushings that is in the San Diego,CA area.I am seeing a internal medicine doctor right now.My dog was given to much dose of trilostate
and started having addisone reactions. The doctor cut the dose in half, since then she has had a lack of appetite but still eating. She is now off of the trilostate.She is going to be retested without the medicine this Friday. Do you have any recommendations?

I am sorry your girl is having these troubles. I do have several questions:
-- How long has it been since she has been off Trilostane?
-- What symptoms other than not a big appetite such as vomiting, lethargy, not able to stand for long for example.
-- Is she currently taking any other medication to include prednisone to get those cortisol numbers up?

So that I have this correct, your current IMS took her off trilostane - Right? If so I would think I would consider staying with a specialist anyway.

Give us those test result numbers as soon as you get them.

I've sent a message to one of our members in your area and see if she has any recomendations for you.

All you can do at this point is retest and don't restart medication until symptoms return and cortisol levels have been shown to go up.

Is there anything more you can tell us? Breed, weight, dosage your dog was on, and any results that were off in the blood and urine testing?
