  7. Re: 15 yr old Maltese just diagnosed. So overwhelmed! Vetoryl questions

Dr. B. Is amazing! He has helped many of us! Did he advise you to stop the metronidazole, or was that your decision?

    Re: New to Cushings

This is EVERYTHING!!! I am by no means an expert. I have lost beLoved fur babies and have had my heart shattered. If I were you, I wouldn't change a thing, and would ride out the ACTING NORMAL...
  9. Re: Gastrointestinal issues with vetoryl

Absolutely! Trilostane (Vetoryl) tore up my Buddy's stomach. Pepcid AC and Slippery Elm bark ( made into a slurry) helped ease those symptoms tremendously. SEB coats the stomach lining, similar to...

Re: Checking in for August 2019

Someone will be along shortly to update your title on Rosie's thread. Please don't concern yourself with this at all.

    Re: New to Cushings

This is whay I choose to focus on today. Do with it as you wish. My time with my little Buddy is gone. He's not coming back. I spent so much of my time worrying over the tomorrows, that I lost all of...
  13. Re: My 13 Year Old Dog - New Diagnosis Questions about Vetoryl

I am speaking for myself only. Others may/do have differing opinions. Unless I'm giving a needed antibiotic, I rarely start new medications over a weekend, when my vet may be unavailable. To be...
  14. Re: My 13 Year Old Dog - New Diagnosis Questions about Vetoryl

    Hello, and welcome,
I only have a moment to post right now, so I will be brief. The starting dose for Vetoryl should not exceed 1 mg. per pound of the dog's weight. Since your dog weighs 20 pounds,...

    Re: My Beautiful Buddy Boy

Thank you all for your kind posts. Also, thanks to Buddy's mystery candle lighter (Marianne). I kept the candle lit for a few more cycles. We have all experienced the loss of at least one heart dog....
  16. Re: New and seeking advice on symptom management

Hi, I am not very wordy, so I will just cut to the chase. You said that Bear was uncomfortable. How uncomfortable is he? What is he doing exactly to indicate this? Does he pace and have difficulty...

    Re: New to Cushings

    Hi Karen,

I will not pretend to know a fraction of the science behind all of this. I chose trilostane because it leaves the system within 12 hours, or so. The idea of Lysodren loading terrified...

    Re: New to Cushings

Glad it worked out! My local fire department/ police never would've responded for something like that. I would have been told to call a cab or an Uber.

    Re: New to Cushings

    FYI......
Since your garage door disengage handle is too high to reach, that's easily remedied. Have someone tie a rope to it, so it hangs down to where you can reach it easily in an emergency....

    Re: New to Cushings

A stim test would help you sort out Annie's panting. Is it pain related, uncontrolled cushings, or both?
