Re: I知 New Here; Need To Know More

    Hi CeeCee,

    Welcome to you and Princess!

One thing right off the bat...I would find a new vet asap. One that is both Cushing's savvy and compassionate. Your baby needs both right now. ;)

    Re: Cost of treatment

I'm glad to hear she's gaining some weight and eating better! Do you have the results of the latest ACTH or PVC monitoring test? That might explain the continuing panting and restlessness.

    Re: Corona Virus Pandemic Preparedness

Before the pandemic hit, I started growing out a pony tail with the intention to get it long enough to donate to use for wigs. They tell me gray hair in in demand. :) That requires at least 7" of...

    Hi Mike,

On another Cushing's group I work with someone mentioned Walmart Pet RX as having good pricing for Vetoryl so check them out!

    Re: Cushings and Hypothyroidism

    Hi Tracy,

    Welcome to you and Cowboy!

Yes, Cushing's can cause a condition called Euthyroid Sick Syndrome which usually clears up once the cortisol is in a more normal range. If the pup is...

Hi and welcome to the two of you!

I am glad Ellie is feeling better but REALLY wish her vet had done an ACTH as is directed by the drug manufacturer. That is the only way to know if the drug was...

  16. Re: I知 new! 6yr old Rottie/Catahoula mix recently diagnosed and having quite the tim

I have merged your thread about the Rimadyl into Eli's original thread. We like to keep all posts about each dog in one thread. That way it is easier to keep up with the history plus this thread...
  17. Re: Rimadyl and Cushings Thoughts

Personally I wouldn't use Rimadyl even in a dog without Cushing's because of how hard it is on the liver and digestive system. Look into Gabapentin and an newer med called Galliprant.

Good to hear from you again but sorry to hear Yukon has pancreatitis. I hope he is soon well and back on his feet. As for Cushing's causing Addison's, I've never heard nor read of any such...

    Re: Cost of treatment

If Rosie were mine, based on those ACTH results I would give a her break from the Vetoryl then restart on the lower dose. Sometimes even tho the numbers aren't in the actual danger zone according to...

    Re: Cost of treatment

What you are describing could easily mean the dose needs to be adjusted again so don't think too hard about "the end" until she sees the vet and has the cortisol checked.

As for when it is time, I...
