Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Morning!! We are up and the alarm has not even gone off yet. Flynny has to be there in an hour, Mike was going to check his BP and bloods first to make sure all good to proceed so don't think surgery will be starting if it goes ahead for at least 2-3 hrs yet. Flynn is perky this morning, no more vomiting since the night I got home from Sydney. I am just going to poke his amlodipine down his throat as cannot give him any food or water. Poor boy!! He has done the rounds of the house to check no cats about. I kind of like he has no clue of what is to come today and I can do the worrying for both of us! Time of a cup of tea I think! Thanks for being here as always :) xx
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Cat check! :D It is nice they don't know about some things, huh? ;)
So about 4-5 my time, ok. I'll be watching for updates even if I'm signed out. Paws up, Flynn!
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
And we shall share the worrying with you so that your burden can be lighter!! I know I won't be straying far from the iPad this evening. ;)

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Awwwww thanks, don't think I will be quite the basket case I was for the liver resection, I seem to remember I spent most of that day under a blanket on the couch LOL and you all ended up telling ghost stories :D He seems really good, playing with his Woolly Mammoth while I have my cup of tea!

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Checking in from work. It's lunch time. The perfect time to check on the both of you. So glad Flynny is playing unaware.:p
The big event should be starting around 2-3PM my time. It's a little after noon here now. I'll be hanging with you in spirit thoughout the remainder of the day and through the night.
We are surrounding you with love Trish. You won't be waiting alone. I don't know if Marianne is providing dinner for us all this time. Someone should probably check on that. I have plenty of chocolate for everyone! :p
PAWS UP FLINNY!

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Hopefully not long to wait Tracy. I am back from dropping him in, I saw Mike and he said if BP and bloods are good it is all go. He is first as Mike wants him to have the whole day to recover. He trotted off with them quite happily, he loves getting out the back to see what is going on! So he should be starting him in 30-40 mins from now.
***PAWS UP MY DARLING FLYNNY BOY***

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
OK then, we are ready to roll! Trish, did Mike have any guesses as to how long this all will take?
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
1-2 hours, depending on how he handles the anaesthetic as to how many he gets off. He has prioritised the lipomas, I have done a drawing with all the warty lumps too, so hopefully he can get most of them off at same time.
Your spaghetti sound yum Leslie, can I have some for breakfast.. sounds much more tempting than my porridge and banana!
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
He is such a good boy trotting off nicely
PAWS UP FLYNNY xx

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Hey Girls!
Checking in from work, I see things are going to get started. It sounds like he is feeling really good Trish. Yes, isn't it such a blessing that they know not what is to come. I am here to help share the worry also. Although I know he is going to do just fine. :D ;)
Leslie, please save some spaghetti for me, it looks like I will be working a bit late tonight.
I will be thinking about our boy for the next several hours, and will also be checking in when I can for updates. Sending positive thoughts and energy.
Paws up Flynn!!! Hugs Trish! xo

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Awww, so cute. He looks bleary eyed from the pre-sedation, poor baby. Like he is trying to resist and sit up. I know that look!
How sweet of Mike to text you a pic. I love that Doc. :)
I am here with you Trish, just can't say signed in.

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
OK, it is 6:00 p.m. my time so I am pouring a tall glass of wine to help my nerves while I wait. L-E-S-L-I-E, I'm feeling a bit peckish, too...WHEN DO WE EAT???????????
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Yes Leslie, the spaghetti sounds yummy. Count me in! :p
I'm here too Trish. We had a brownout (lost power). I came home to a very hot house with no fans or AC working. It is in the high 90's today. Poor hot little Rosie. I scooped her up and we're at the mall now, where it's cool and has WIFI. How else could I keep tabs on our boy? No power, means no WIFI. That won't do. We are going to hang out here for a few hours. Hopefully the power will be restored soon.
Flynny is in great hands with Dr. Mike. No one waits alone, so we're all here. Big group hug with Trish in the middle. :p
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma

Flynny boy, we are pulling for you!
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Feel the love Trish. :p Feel all of our helping energy Flynny boy. :p
I've had cold spaghetti for breakfast many times. It definitely beats porridge and a banana. I'd eat Leslie's dinner for breakfast anytime!;):D
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Awww Marianne, I swear it took a bit of willpower not to txt back STOP I'm coming to get him!! But he just a bit sleepy in that one I think!
Thanks for being here, hopefully the surgery is going well as we speak!! Not as quite as nerve wracking as the liver resections or adrenalecotmy, but will be most pleased to get the All Clear phone call!
I have cleaned the house while I have been waiting, so he can have my undivided attention when he comes home this arvo.
I put the photo of him on FB and Mum rang and said she nearly cried when she saw it. Awwwwww. Her and me took him out to a café for lunch yesterday and a nice walk along the foreshore... will put a pic up of them! http://www.k9cushings.com/forum/albu...pictureid=7001

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Had toast with vegemite with my porridge, does that make it more tasty!! Been eating the porridge for 2 months now as part of the get healthy thing I have been doing since I was sick. I have lost 12 pounds already!!
Thanks for the hugs Kathy! x

Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
porridge....porridge...that's what we call oatmeal, right? If so, it really is good for you especially my way - LOADED with sugar and cinnamon! :D
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Well it is oats, so I guess it might be oatmeal!! Very good at helping keep me full and no snacking on bad things before lunch!! I like it with brown sugar and cream lol but that's out for now... just skim milk and the banana!
Much prefer the spaghetti though... love that home made... hmmm might have to get you to send me a takeout container for tea tonight!
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
We eat oatmeal every morning, OMG how Zoe loved to like the bowl, Koko still does it as well. Sometimes dont feel like eating it but then Koko doesnt get his lick. HMMMMM porridge sounds so much yummier
I want spaghetti, please, I am eating a stinking tv dinner after working 10 hours:rolleyes:
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Hey Addy!! Mmmmm TV dinner, some are really nice!! I remember Zoe licking the bowl, Flynn likes to do that too!
Waiting, waiting, housework done. 2 hrs since he sent that txt, so hopefully hear soon!
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Yup those puppies love to lick bowls, don't they????:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Anytime now, we should know Flynn is awake? Waiting, uggh, good thing we do it together:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
You are really going to have to get Flynn a cow this Christmas or at least book a week at a Dude Ranch. Or do you have to fly to Australia for a Dude Ranch vaca? I can still see that pix of Flynn trying to kiss the cow:):):):):) That is our boy!!!
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Why were you at work so long, blardy early start you had!!
Oh yep, love the cow pic too... funnily enough that was taken the day before his last liver op!! http://www.k9cushings.com/forum/albu...pictureid=5808
Just done the flying to Australia thing lol... did not spot any cow ranches but probably the middle of Sydney not the best place to look!!
Yes, it should be anytime now... tap tap tap!
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
hummmmm, ya'll must call something else "TV dinners" over there if some are nice! I'm not real sure what most of the items in TV dinners here are even tho they LOOK like steak or potatoes or peas. :p
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Hmmm your right, we do not actually call them TV dinners lol, but I know what they are from watching American sit-coms in my youth... we always wanted a TV dinner even though we really did not know what they were! I am presuming they are just frozen meals of varying varieties... likes pastas, or macaroni cheese, indian curry.. that kind of thing
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Mine was mashed potato, corn and two pieces of a chicken the size of a parakeet:p:p:p:p LOL works in a pinch though. Marie something brand starts with a 'c' I think, the last name. The only one I can tolerate:rolleyes:
Remember when the TV was black and white, no color and they invented those TV dinner tables? The mags would should pixes of us Americans in the early 50's was it? Sitting in front of the TV with our TV tables and Tv dinners?
LOL,I can so see that Norman Rockwell kind of photo now in my head:o
What people in other countries must of thought:o:o:o:o:o LOL
Yup, the good ole days
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Oh I love the TV trays! My mom hated those trays because no one could eat at them properly. She couldn't set them correctly (ie like a "normal" table setting) plus one or several of us always ended up sending the whole kit-n-kaboodle flying when we stood up! :D
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Just rang for update, front desk nurse went out back to ask and he is still in surgery. Everything going well and all vital signs are fine. She was not sure exactly what time they started when I asked.
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Maybe they got a later start.Good news vitals are fine. It probably will not be much longer. I remember you telling me for Zoe, wake up, walk, pee, come home. That was my mantra back then.:):):):):)
Is Flynn expected to come home tonight?
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
He sure is, no way is he staying in there. They have no one there overnight. Way back in 2011 when he did his big collapse, before they found the liver mass they wanted to keep him in... I said no way even back then.. took him home, with his IV line and all... hooked it up to the curtain rail and counted the drips all night! :p
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Good, I don't blame you for not allowing him to stay, especially with no one there:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Some good pain meds and a lot of love from you, a pup could not ask for better post op care than that!!!!
And you have the weekend too, no way he can stay over the weekend either. I totally forgot it is Friday tomorrow, your Saturday
I have off all next week, can you believe it? I have not had more than 3 days off in a row in 3 years, which is why I put in 10 hours today:rolleyes: They are freaking out.
-
Re: Flynn 11 y/o Foxie Cross - Right adrenalectomy, 3rd Dec 2012 for Pheochromocytoma
Another update. The nurse helping Mike just called. They have all the lipomas out, yay... but there are 10 or so little warty things there too. He has not taken them as he has now been under 2 hrs and he wants to wake up but she wanted to know if any of them are bothering him and they would do them now. I said none are bothering him so she said they would do them in 3 months or so with probably just light sedation. She going to ring back to let me know he woke up OK and I said I am happy to go sit with him this afternoon.
