Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
I hadn't thought of the camera - good idea, although I'm not sure I'd be able to get a good picture if they drive off as quickly as they did today, but it might deter them from coming back. I'm hoping I already scared them off, by going out today, although I would prefer to get something from the police which guarantees they won't be back.
I don't think I've seen the car around but it was just a small white SUV so nothing particularly distinctive / noticeable, apart from the fact that it was very clean and shiny.
The interesting thing is that I put a car on the drive when they were there at lunchtime, and it was still there when they backed up on to our drive, so they should have worked out that I was in the house.....

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Could be bill collector. Skip trace. Repo people. Trying to think of possible options. Sounds like maybe waiting for someone? Insurance fraud investigators? There are possibilities at least that might not be as scary.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Thank you - it does help, however it's the running the stop sign that makes me think it's more likely to be something illegal.... unless their target arrived home at that point, but the police searched the area within 15 minutes of them driving off, and there was no sign of them. Also that would mean there was only 1 house that they could have been watching (the people living there only moved in last November and I don't know anything about them).
Maybe it's a private detective as one of our neighbours (who I try to avoid!) keeps telling me that a lot of husbands in the area are playing away, although I would not expect them to park on our drive when they knew I was home, as that really draws attention to them. Hmmm - maybe a very poor detective ;)
As you can tell, I have a very vivid imagination ;) ;)
-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
LOL Very bad indeed. I don't know, but if your house is the one of interest, then seems weird that they would pull in your drive with the car there. Which makes me think, maybe another house. hmmm, never know with new neighbors. Never know with old one sometimes either.
I swear this is the truth, I lived in Washington state for a few years, nice neighborhood, small town, knew my neighbors, now I didn't hang out with my next door neighbor, but we said, hello, talked across the fence, etc. So, I moved away after 3 years, and one of my other neighbors calls me maybe 6 - 10 months later, and said, you'll never believe it, they had a meth lab in the garage of your next door neighbor. (she lived across the street). I wouldn't have ever suspected, but then I tend to Usually think of the best of people. Police raided it, thank god, that could have blown up at any point, and there were young kids there too. So, you just can't tell sometimes.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Wow - my parents always used to say you never know what goes on behind closed doors!
One of their neighbours worked in a furniture store and used to 'borrow' furniture most weekends (we're talking full dining sets, armchairs, lamps, etc.) - they had a long path from the driveway to the house and we used to see them carrying the furniture in / out. Several years later my Dad got to know the people who owned the furniture store chain and they mentioned they had a few problems with that particular store, but he guessed they had no idea of the true extent of the 'borrowing'.
Well the mystery deepens as I can't think of any reason why we'd be of interest - just a very boring middle aged couple with more than the average number of cars and a super cute puppy dog, so it must be one of the neighbours. If so I don't suppose we'll hear anything from the police, but my imagination might be getting some exercise :D
-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
A mystery is always intriguing as long as it doesn't involve ourselves. :)
It doesn't hurt to keep a look out though and if they show up, maybe you can get a picture from the window. Without having to go outside. Not sure that I'd want them to see you Take the picture since there is no way to know what they are up to.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
I have the camera ready just in case they show up tomorrow - if they're on the road I'll be able to get the vehicle from the house, however if they are as close to our garages as they were today I'll have to wait for them to start driving off before I can get the license plate! Our drive is almost 3 car lengths long and they were parked around 1/2 a car length from the garage door - the police were rather surprised when I showed them how close to the house the car had been.
Henry has been out on the patio (at the back) barking at animals in the night, but I haven't stopped him as quickly as I usually would because I want them to think we have lots of big dogs!
and no more Midsomer Murders for a few days ;)
-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
hmm, maybe they got close to make someone else think they belonged at your house. hmmm...interesting. LOL
Oh I don't know, there is a lot to be said for a good british murder now. LOL If there wasn't I wouldn't be such a fan of all those books and got my sister hooked on them too. LOL
Okay, off to bed for me! I'll be checking in tomorrow morning though.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Sounds like a good detective mystery going on there! Hope they are not watching the neighborhood to see when people leave their homes empty. Maybe it is a private detective checking on a cheating spouse?? Blessings

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Well, no sign of the car so far today. OH popped home at lunchtime, and there was another car stopped in a similar place outside, but it was just someone taking a call. We both took Henry for a walk to the mailbox, so we could get a closer look......
So fingers crossed we won't see them again.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Oh Sharlene the cowgirl, I once went to a cowboys/girl and indian party and I had a blast, i wore a denim dress, cowgirl boots, cowgirl hat and a checked neck chief. I love line dancing, well all dancing really whenever there is music i,m on the dance floor. I even caught myself dancing whilst waiting in the supermarket que the other day :D

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
MC, so no stalkers today? That is good! Maybe they are gone for good now and you gave Them a fright. hmmpph..or maybe the cops stopped by the registration address and had a few questions for why they were hanging out in the neighborhood. Either works for me.
Excitement never stops Patti, always something going on! :)
ohh, yea Tracy, I'm going to give the mall a browse around while I'm there on Friday the kerchief sounds good, I'm thinking of maybe going that route. I found a jean shirt of hubs that will fit me. Maybe over a long white skirt with black boots? unless I can find cowboy boots or something similiar.
I've had it, I'm going in for the hair cut. Summer coming, I'm taking it shorter, maybe to shoulder length or something. Not sure. I might browse around online and see if I can find a simple easy style I like.
I told Molly she needs a bath and hair cut too, I might go with the bath first though. LOL

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
No stalkers seen today so fingers crossed that either the police or me have scared them off, however I have developed an obsession for looking at the license plates on small white SUVs!
I adore British murder drama - current favourites are Vera, which is set in the area I hail from, Shetland and Death in Paradise, but I'm a big fan on Poirot, Frost, Morse, Taggart, and Midsomer.
Ooooh - I can just see you and Miss Molly relaxing at the spa then emerging with your lovely new haircuts ;)
-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Ohhh, you know the guy who played the orignal Poirot in the Agatha Christie series? The little Belgium dude with the mustache that he keeps messing with? The actor is currently playing at the theater here in Toronto in a murder mystery involving the vatican. I'd love to go see it. He was such a hoot as Poirot.
I loved the P.D. James series of mysteries The books and the shows were all good. Frost is wonderful too and Morse. I think we might like some of the same ones :) I got my sister hooked on them too and my Mother in law is a huge fan. Her current major irritation is the new Sherlock series is not as good as the old one. I can't even mention Sherlock without getting a lecture of the old vs the new series. It's kind of funny actually.
hmm, yes, we'll both be blonde Molly's a natural though, while I'm a "help!! cover the grey!!" hahahahaha
Good job! May you live long and stalker free. hmmm, doesn't really have the same zing to it does it as "live long and prosper"
Did you see the funeral procession today from Moncton? It was pretty impressive I posted a link over on JoAnn and Eli's thread. Heart breaking, tears flowing.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
You mean David Suchet? I've just been watching the last ones (incl. Curtain) - a bit dark and sad.
When we lived in the US we used to get a few Canadian channels, and one showed the same episode of Frost (Dead Male One) EVERY week - we used to get really excited that it might be a different one!
This is just so sad http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/06...n_5480803.html
I have heard that Danny will retire and live with a family friend, but that's about seventh-hand - just hope it's true.
-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Yes David Suchet!! I'd love to see him live at the theater. Just haven't found time to get down there. Not sure how long it will be in town for either.
Oh that is funny about the same show every week! You'd think they'd change it up a bit. My sister is in the states and she loves PBS because of it's mystery theater nights.
That is incredibly sad. I hope Danny retires, but working police dogs like to work, so maybe working with some other handlers will help him too? He was whimpering during the funeral. I think that is one of the main things that broke so many peoples hearts.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Hi Sharlene:
We are to get real bad weather from down south this afternoon. I need to time these meds just right like last time. I hope you and Molly get out today and don't have what we are going to get. How is Molly doing with her diet? I hope it is still going along well. Hope you are having a better work week. Blessings

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Molly seems to be doing well with the diet change. Solid poops, which we all know is like christmas! LOL
I'm off to lay down now for a bit, after working all day with a major sinus headache I broke down and took some meds. Barometric changes sudden, either up or down, always give me a HUGE headache.
If it goes away I might be back later, we'll see what it does. Usually meds and closing my eyes helps.
I just looked at where we are going in NewFoundland in a couple weeks and jeebees if it isn't 3C!!!! *shiver*

but I'm a big fan on Poirot, Frost, Morse, Taggart, and Midsomer.
me too, and do you like inspector lynley too?
have the whole lynley series on dvd and lots of midsomer murders too.
and before midsomer murders i watched bergerac with john nettles too.
british detectives are very popular in my country.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Oh dear Sharlene - I hope the meds and rest help.
Oooh - I'd forgotten about Inspector Lynley. I love that and have the box set of it too.
I've never watched Bergerac - think I need to give it a try. How do you like the new Barnaby compared to John Nettles? I think Sykes is now the star ;)
I also have the box set of Murder in Surburbia - have you seen that?
-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Oh yes, definitely Inspector Lynley. I have I think almost all the Elizabeth George books.
hmm, who wouldn't love Sykes. Patti should watch that show. She'd love it. Sykes is a JRT Patti
We're pretty crazy about the British mysteries here in Canada too.
Yikes, thunder and I just saw lightening. Nothing while I was out walking molly a few minutes ago. Weird, because it's cooled down a bit out there, so wouldn't think a thunderstorm, even though they are calling for it. Drat and I just put a bunch of plants on the back deck that a neighbor brought over tonight. I might need to move them to the front porch under the roof or they'll be drenched!
Best get to it

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Sharlene:
We had a show here with a JRT named Wishbone, it was a cute show. Well Tipper and Toby already walked and it is dark out it looks like 9 at nite. I found the instructions from the cardiologist for Tipper's dental. It says fluids must be limites less than 1/2 surgical maintenance, no barbituates and alpha 2 antagonists. Respiration must be closely monitored at all times. So because she has the heart murmur too much fluid could cause congestive heart failure. I just wonder what that is going to do to her liver though?? Without xrta fluids to cleanse it?? Hope you do not get todays storm. Places are already flooding in Pennsylvania. Where I used to live two streets over a black bear was running loose thru yards. I could just see Tipper meeting a bear! The fur would fly as she would go after it I know. Sorry you felt so lousy hope you are better today. Blessings

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Yikes, flooding doesn't sound good. We didn't get that much here, but we did get the thunder and lightening Molly was stressed this time and I ended up laying on the floor with her at 1am. No wonder I am sore and sleepy today. At least my headache is gone, so that is good. That wasn't good.
Susan, he dance is Saturday night. Should be fun.

Last nite when I went in to check her, she looked up at me like get out of my closet and leave me alone! Have you found something to wear to the dance?? I bet it will be lots of fun! When do you go to the whale watching?? Hope Molly is still doing well, as that takes a load off your mind right there. Blessings

Murder in Surburbia is about two female detectives and is quite tongue in cheek / amusing. Oh - a british detective night would be fun. Kind of like a book club...
Sorry to hear about your night on the floor Sharlene. I hope that Molly is doing well today. Any update on your outfit for the dance tomorrow?
p.s. still no further sightings of the stalker so hoping it wasn't anything to worry about (although I'm still looking a small white SUVs suspiciously, and re-assessing the neighbours ;) )
-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Hahahaha, MC, you crack me up. I'd be watching and assessing too, though. Can't help it if you have mystery in your blood and sounds like more than a few of us around here do.
Think i'm going with a white long skirt and a jean shirt, with a white tank under it. Not sure on the shoes, but I should find something with as many as I have in my closet. We're going to decide for sure on outfits tomorrow.
I had today off, as I had a few appointments today. Then came home worked on my weekly report and started on a big project for work. That kept me busy till 9:30pm and I'm not even a quarter of the way into it. It's going to be mostly after hour extra work so, might be a bit of a ghost around the forum for a bit. I'll try though.
molly is doing okay. Life continues moving along. I wanted to make the taco salad tonight, but timing didn't work out for me to get anything done.
Tomorrow is that dance, and sunday is a bbq, so will be a busy weekend and I might try to get some more work done.

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Hi Sharlene:
I guess the dance is this weekend? Hope you found an outfit. WE had no storm last nite thank goodness. Tipper fell asleep on the bed. She woke up, looked around and realized she was sleeping on the bed. She immediately went to the closet. Cool here this morning, and the way Tipper likes it. My neighbor had a colonoscopy at which point they found a bad vein and repaired it. He is also anemic, and will have some tests this morning before coming home this afternoon. His daughter is to come for fathers day to visit him. Hope you have this nice cool weather too, Molly will like that. Blessings

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
yes the dance is tonight. Molly loved it this morning when my hubby and I were two stepping around the living room, hallway, through the kitchen, dining room and back to the living room. She thought that was great fun. :)
Hubs announced this morning that he has found a western apparel store, so we'll be going later, to pick me up some boots, a western shirt that I can wear with jeans and I haven't decided on a hat yet or not, but hubs said he wants one, so maybe. Then I'll accessorize with my turquoise jewelery. I still have some left over from my days in New Mexico and my brother who use to be a dealer for western jewelery. He lived in New Mexico most of his life. Well, when he was older anyhow. So I'll figure it all out this afternoon. It should be fun and you know, we love fun.

Sharlene:
I have a lot of turquois jewelry from New Mexico etc. I have a huge Squash Blossom Necklace, unlike the ones they sell today that are cheaper. My stuff must be 30 years old. Who knows could have bought some from your brother!! I should sell it as I have no where here to wear it to. A friend of mine bought me a Stetson Cowgirl hat in a few years ago. It is black and beautifully made. Your hubby sounds like he is really getting into this even if it isn't his kind of dancing. I bet Molly wondered what the heck are my parents doing when you were steppin it. It is so nice here. My neighbor just went to get the elderly man from the hospital, hope all goes well. The dogs are liking this weather. Blessings

-
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Whoo, pooped cowgirl. I am not sure we left the dance floor except for dinner. Lots of fun.
Hahaha Trish! A whip would have been funny.
I remember once, my stepdaughter came home from a date, the window blinds were open, and we had some friends over and were all in the living room dancing and singing "I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so" She was mortified.
He also sings "fly me to the moon" to me periodically. Yea, he's a keeper. Tasha, my golden, Loved to Dance with us. Molly will only be interested for a bit, but Tasha could go for a long time.
Well I want to get through the forum posts before going to bed, then another big day tomorrow, bbq and swim party for dads day.

Hi Sharlene,
Okay, I'm pooped just reading about your evening, LOL! You guys have more fun than anyone I know! Glad you and hubs had a great time. Did you end up getting cowboy boots for your outfit?

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Yes, hubs took me shopping and bought me some canadian cowboy boots. He said they will last me a lifetime. Then he added in a leather vest and a hat, so he definitely had me styling. Now we are talking about going out to calgary for the calgary stampede at some point. Probably not this year but maybe in a couple.
Yes we are having the pool party and bbq here. It is suppose to be decent weather but you never know. The nice thing is our back yard faces south and with the high fence, it is a micro climate back there usually. Always warmer than the north facing front yard.

OMG, I love the Calgary Stampede!! They televise it here and I pretty much watch it every year. That would be awesome if you get to go, it looks like tons of fun. Yep, those boots probably will last you a lifetime Sharlene. I have a pair of Justin Ropers that I've had for probably 15 or 20 years and they're still in great shape.
