Yay for Molly! Great news on her numbers! Keep it up! :D
How is the wonderful Molly doing. I'm sure she is fine and being her usual diva self :D
Oh vivid dreams, better watch or your hubby may ban you to Molly's bed
Sharlene:
Well no storm last nite I am so happy for Tipper. I know some on here got really bad weather, and I hope all are ok. Are you getting any of this with the storms lately? I am so glad Molly urine results are good, and that is a happy day for you I know. Tipper gets tose crystals if her urine is refrigerated as hers has had to be done over too. Nice day here today, hope it lasts! Blessings

Hey Sharlene! Just pokin' my head in to wish you a happy weekend.:)
We are supposed to have another nice weekend-I think it will be the 4th one in a row. Low humidity, comfortable temperatures, sunshine. My kind of weather!
There is a boardwalk craft show tomorrow. We have one each spring and each fall. We always go because you never know what you might see there. It's a good way to get some sun, too!----strolling along the boardwalk.
Great news on Molly. I know you're thrilled. Let's hope it's the beginning of a trend!:D
Hugs,
Susan
Wonderful job, Molly and Sharlene!!! :):):)
Hi Sharlene:
We have cooler weather and Tipper loves it. How is Molly getting along? No more poop problems? I guess you are hard at work and really busy. Hope you all have a good weekend. Blessings
Patti
So happy to hear Molly is doing well. The Diva showed us all.
We're a-okay here. Weather has been cooler here too, perfect walking weather.
I notice that molly has more trouble with that rear leg that has the luxating patella. She just seems to wobble on it, so I try to give her support when she is on grass via her harness. It's only on the grassy areas, as that isn't even or hard surface. On the sidewalk she is fine. She is not adverse to letting you know she needs to rest it either. She'll just stop and sit. I massage and we go on. I think next winter is going to be pretty rough though with this leg. Anticipation eh. :)
Looking forward to a warmer, sunny weekend. More yard work. We're moving into the back yard now and my idea that I just want to clean it up since we lost so much stuff anyhow, so a nice clean look should be good to have.
We've opted for a date night to the movies on Saturday. We're going to try out the new (well new to us anyway, since we haven't used it before) VIP movie experience. Big seating, like as in recliners, menus, drinks and food brought to your seats by servers, including wine, etc. Not something I'd probably do often, but it sounds like a fun thing to try.
We finally got our hotel in Newfoundland booked. Boy, don't try to go there around Canada Day, it's impossible to get a room in a decent place it seems. I swear I must have found one of the last ones inside the city. You can always get a place out of town by the airport, but who wants to do that for getaway.
http://www.winterholme.com/Default.aspx so this is what I found and even then we cut the trip a day short as they only had availability for certain days.
On to booking some whale watching excursions and checking the iceberg locater to see how fast those bergs are melting and how far north we might have to go to find one. I've never seen an iceberg before and seeing one from the shore would be good.
We don't go for another couple weeks, but I'm in prep mode.
hugs all, have a fab weekend!

Sharlene:
You are having way too much fun, I need to switch lives with you for a week! Glad you got your vacation planned and got a room. That should be a great time. Tipper has those luxating patellas too so she positions her legs funny sometime with her feet pointing out to the side. Hope you have a good weekend, it will be good her until Sunday then storms again. Blessings
Patti
Way fun, loving the idea of a VIP section at the movies!! I would have to careful I didn't doze off in my comfy chair :D
Has Molly's leg been xrayed Sharlene, can't remember off hand?? Does she run ok on it?
Please pack us all in your bags when you head away won't you, I would love to go whale watching. I have seen a few off our beach over the years, mainly orca and more commonly dolphins too never the real big whales though, except one that washed up dead on the beach. Flynn was very interested in that, he looked like he was going to take a bite before I dragged him away . Our local Maori always take the jaw bone of the whale and bury it for cultural reasons. We get the odd seal too, just last week one bit an elderly gent on his leg when he got a bit too close, he needed surgery but that was not on our beach though :eek: I remember Dad walking Flynn years ago came across one and Flynn was getting a bit too close to it for Dad's liking!
It was the IMS or the Neuro specialist who discovered the leg problem on the left side, the right side my vet found and yes it was xrayed, the joint groove isn't cut deep enough, it's a birth defect. So, since they xrayed and ultrasound a few things that day I'd think they would have done the leg when they found the problem or been very sure of what it was. They said grade 2, no need for surgery unless it goes to a grade 3.
She runs okay on it because she has Always run like a rabbit, both back legs together, but she walks like well, a dog. hahaha.
Yea, it turns out a bit to the side when it gets wonky on her. darnest thing.
No way, falling asleep is what I do at home during the movie. I'd have to be awfully bored to fall asleep at the movies. yikes. I can see where that might be a problem is those seats are Too comfy though. Still this is a sci-fi thriller, Edge of Tomorrow I think it's called. I'm not a super Tom Cruise fan, but I LOVE Emily Blunt. This is her first action movie I think and it's opening weekend, so we're going to give it a go. We need a date night for sure. Work has been so awful for hubs lately, that if he wanted the moon, I'd find a way to give it to him.
I love whale watching. As long as it is safe for the whales. The zodiac was way close to them, but with engines cut, the came to us, wild. Those were minke whales, but this area if a huge migration area, so humpbacks, which are HUGE.
I love the orca too, saw the out in the straits off Victoria BC.
Eeek Patti, you're life is way too stressful. I'd have had a heart attack by now trying to do all you do and the worries you have.
hugs all, have a good weekend! Do one thing for yourself and something with your furbaby this weekend. It will make the world seem so much better.
hugs

Pleased to hear you've got your trip booked. We saw a couple of whales from the ferry at Tadoussac, plus Sluice the whale who swam into the generating station at Annapolis Royal back in 2004 (just happened to be driving through en route to Digby and saw crowds of people), but OH has always had bad luck on proper whale watching trips so now refuses to go!
Just out of interest, when you say Molly runs like a rabbit what do you mean - I've been concerned about the way Henry runs since we got him as it's very different to the way I remember Hamish running - of course every time I try to video it he runs normally! but basically both back legs go out together and are angled outwards (I know, that description is dreadful) - it reminds me of a rabbit.
Molly's legs are together and both straight back. She has always run this way, since I've had her at 11 months. She just flies and man can she dig in and pull you. I swear she needs a minature sled attached to her sometimes.
Lyme has been very bad, so hope the tick is negative.
Oh yes in Tadoussac the whales are right there. There was one little cabin left on the beach, and our friends owned it, so we'd have morning coffee and watch the beluga whales in the bay, but definitely can see them on the ferry crossing if it is the right time of day. We haven't been back in years, I imagine they still have that cottage though. They would rent it out when they weren't using it.
You'll have to get Henry back on track with the revolution. When can you safely give it to him?

Yay for the excellent news on Molly's upc!! So happy to see those very good results! Vacay plans sound really nice and the hotel looks really beautiful!
Can you believe that Bergamasca on The Dogist...Lola??? I've seen her around. I have to say I am not a fan of that matted fur dreds...yuck they look like they just pick up all the dust and dirt that they get near, but they also seem sweet and gentle. Herders...guess they look like the sheep and maybe the sheep like that! :D
Did you see Edge of Tomorrow yet? I am the same as you...love Emily Blunt (love her husband too) but not a fan of Tom Cruise. The movie looks good and I believe got favorable reviews. We'll probably see it over the summer. First on my list is "Chef" which I hear is great, especially if you like food!! :D Haha...right up my alley! :p
Enjoy the weekend..glad Molly is doing so well..(minus the knee issue).
Barbara
Chef looks good. Edge of Tomorrow we are going to see tomorrow night. I still need to see Budapest Hotel, which Addy reminded me of today. That is next on my list. I think. The western, A Million Ways to Die in the Old West, I think I want to see too, has a lot of good actors in it.
Oh that is funny about Lola. I'd love to see her, but I don't think I want to ever have one, that hair would drive me nuts. I'd have the only shaved Bergamasca around!
later gator!
Sharlene and molly muffin
:D Loved Grand Budapest...quirky and odd in the best ways and colorful too! Enjoy the movie and the weekend. :D
Sharlene:
Yes Toby sleeps in my room in a crate, or Tipper would be into it with him. The cats sleep in the family room or the cat room when it is real warm. My rescue cat Lucky knows not to come in my room, and when gates are closed it means Tipper is behind them so he never ventures past the gate as he is scared to death of Tipper. She just has to make a mean look at him and he cries. I noticed Tipper hopping like a bunny when she goes down the steps after that ACL tear. She does not do it when anywhere else though. The Laser therapist told me that they point their feet out etc. to compensate when that patella acts up. She told me to make Tipper walk in circles and figure 8's as that strengthens it. Also she said push he back and forth in front of you when she is standing still, just gently. It is not real bad for them to tolerate as she said it goes back in usually right away, and is not something that goes on long. I think Tipper adapted to it years ago. From all her Jack Russell jumps I think made hers start to act up and go out on her. I had asked two Dr.'s about it too as I did not want her to be in pain, and they said let it alone, it doesn't happen that often and is not chronic pain. I hope you and Molly have a good weekend and enjoy this nice weather. Blessings
Patti
Hay Sharlene
I hope you saw your movie and enjoyed the VIP section. I love reading about you and hubs time together, it sounds like you have a real lovely relationship warms my heart to read it :)
I wouldn't worry too much about the leg, woody had a patella issue and it would pop out every so often but the stubborn git would just lift his leg and then quickly force his leg to the ground thus popping it back in, my vet showed me how to pop it back in and I only needed to do it once.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :D
Ok Big Question-
Are you happy with Revolution for Molly? It takes care of fleas, ticks and heartworm issues with minimal side effects?
What dose do you give - I think Koko is about 20 pounds.
Have fun on date night. Fill us all in on the movie and VIP seats
Ohhh I bet she is out there now, in her comfy chair, sipping wine and being served tasty treats!!! I am jealous! xx
Hey Addy, of course I am not Sharlene :), but since you are asking about Revolution, I thought I would share a link I found yesterday that lists and compares the treatment offered by both Revolution and also Frontline. Revolution looks to be very comprehensive in some ways, but doesn't offer as broad a coverage for ticks -- it only kills American dog ticks. So if you are worried about Lyme, it does not help because it doesn't kill deer ticks. Frontline kills four types of ticks, but doesn't cover heartworm, mites, mange, etc. They both cover fleas. Anyway, here's the link in case you are interested.
http://www.metrovetchicago.com/servi...-vs-frontline/
Marianne
Thanks Marianne,
Then that wont work because we have deer ticks too. What concerns me is the Heartguard makes Koko vomit without fail. I dont know what else I could use for heartworm.
I am happy with the Revolution. Molly has never had a reaction to it, she's never had a tick or a flea either, in her 10 years with us. Of course, being in the city, we don't seem to have deer ticks, or not that molly would maybe come in contact with?
We use the brown box one, (has the JRT on the front picture, for dogs 5.1 - 10kg.
I liked the movie, Emily Blunt did a good job as an action character. I feel like Tom Cruise plays the same character when he plays action characters. He's got it down pretty good.
Okay, so very nice to have those big comfy seats. If you get the ones at the very front, they recline too. Ours didn't recline, but it wasn't missed. Plenty of room to stretch your legs. I had a girly drink instead of wine, strawberry, banana, with vodka. Only thing missing was the umbrella. There is a menu at your seat when you sit down and someone comes by to take your order, anything from drinks, to popcorn, hotdogs, or hamburgers, pineapple upside down cake was even on the menu. They even had valet parking. (we didn't use it, but it was there!)
We enjoyed it. I don't know if we'd go all the time, but it was fun as a treat to do. There is another theater type that you can reserve your seats in too and the seating is nice. Not as nice as this but that is the one we often will go to. It is nice to not have your back killing you after sitting in one spot for a few hours with no getting up and down.
It's funny. I grew up with sport, watching them on tv, etc, horse racing, car racing, american football, but hubby is just not into watching a lot of sports on tv. We have a basketball team, a baseball team, hockey, canadian football teams all in the city here and he will go to the games live and love it. (the Gray Cup is of course a whole different thing and that he'll watch) or if our neighbor has him down for a guys night and to watch a game, then he'll go but I think just for the comradarie. (my neighbor LOVES sports, period, his son is a baseball player and playing for Louisiana State currently, and he's played the Blue Jays AA team, or whatever that is. So, we do support him. :) Anyway, wow, way to get off track here. So, he was asking me why I was being all frantic about getting the results of the Belmont, checking before we went in and as soon as the show was over. I'm like, well it is the triple crown, how can you NOT! LOL He is probably grateful I don't make him watch auto racing every sunday any more too. :)
So this knee thing seems to be a lot more common than I thought it was. She just seems so wobbly on grass or uneven surfaces. I guess that is normal too. Okay, so I won't freak as much over that then.
Well I just had a wave of sleepy come over me, so bed time for me gang.
hugs

Sharlene:
So glad you had a good time, it sounds wonderful for a treat to do that. It is already heating up here today and I am going to be watching the weather and the sky. Tipper has been pretty calm for a few days, so I don't want her getting started up today. She is still getting up as I fall asleep and going in the closet. I have not heard any congestion when she lays down now, but have not been able to observe her a lot while sleeping either. Does Molly do ok when you go out and leave her? Is she really clingy when you get home? Tipper was Miss independent don't help me with anything I do it all myself girl, until this past year when she declined. Now she does not want me leaving her and needs to be in the same room all the time. Blessings
Patti
Oooh - that sounds like a fun time. Do they serve throughout the film?
Hamish had the knee thing too - it didn't happen very often but when it did he would lift his leg and OH was great at massaging it back into place (I was lousy!).
I hate watching sport on TV - I'd rather be doing than watching (although I do most sports very badly ;) ). Only exception was Formula 1 when Schumacher was racing - we went to the US GP once and I decided it was better on TV because you missed so much from the stands.
They take orders until the trailers come on but not during the movie. It is enough though.
True, car racing like formula, indy, anything road course is better on tv. I like going to live sport events too. Just something about getting caught up in the high spirits of winning and losing.
I just didn't have a clue so many dogs have these luxating knees.
Blech, back to work in the morning.
hugs
Sharlene and molly muffin
Sharlene,
You do more cool stuff and have more fun in one weekend, than I do all year. I think I shall live vicariously through you from now on. That means I get your hubby too. There's not many like him around! Be sure to clue him in on our arrangement! ;):D
So sad about Daisy Mae. Needed to lighten things up a bit. It's okay to throw your hubby under the bus for the cause. :D
I'll let him know that I'm making arrangements with the forum girls! :)
True, in the spirit of needing to raise spirits, husbands are free game. (and we surely do all need that tonight) Be warned though, he loves nothing more than to find a series on netflex and watch every season nonstop.
We have a few good ones on here I must say (Other Halves). I'm always thrilled at the gentle, kind loving souls that go along with some of our doggie families.
Next weekend, I believe is country western, dinner/dance. I do not know know what to wear! Pretty sure I don't have anything in the closet to fit That one. Unless I can just throw on a pair a jeans? I am taking Friday off though so maybe I'll be able to find something. Think the dollar store might have some of those kid cowboy hats?
hugs,
Sharlene and molly muffin
OH I think jeans will be just fine, with a pair of boots, a big belt with a metal clasp. Plaid shirt and a hat for sure! Comfy too!! Do you and hubs like to dance?? Line dancing?? Be a fun night! :D:D Get hubs a whip and spurs, a leather vest like the rodeo!!
I love most sports too, except not car racing!!! I think it stems back to when we were kids and went to the local speedway and the car whizzing by kicked up stones and dirt and I did not like that  put me off ever since!
I never knew about all these knee issues either, sounds painful putting it back in :eek: but sounds like many manage just fine as I am sure Molly will.
Hope work goes OK today Sharlene, Mondays blech... at least mine is done, only 3 more days as I have to travel Friday for the meeting in Tauranga so kinda short week! xxx
Sharlene:
Nothing more country than jeans and boots and a cowgirl hat. Sounds like a lot of fun. I think I'll pick that weekend to trade with you!!! Is Addy wanting just heart worm protection or does she need flea stuff for KoKo also? I do not use any flea stuff on Tipper since she got Cushings. She has too many things going in her system now. I do however give her heartworm protection. She has never gotten a flea in 2 years now. I only walk her on the road and in short grass. I know they sell wipes to keep fleas off, but they have a strong smell and not sure she would want that in the house. They are from Vetri Science. Tipper lumps seem to have just gone into overdrive the last few months growing. Do you think the Trilostane could affect their growth?? Hope you get thru the Monday blahs at work. Blessings
Patti
Patti I haven't seen anything that says that trilostane would effect the growth of lympoma's one way or another.
Maybe Glynda or someone would have more knowledge about that
I'm sorry that they are growing, I think they just tend to do that and go through almost spurts from the feel of them.
hmm, yee haawww peeps. I think I am suppose to wear a skirt for the dance, but I need to check with some others that are going.
I like line dancing, but haven't done it since the 80's, maybe some early 90's. Hubs loves to dance, but not line dance. He said that isn't his thing. We'll see about that because in all honesty the man loves to dance, period and I can't see him sitting at a table if there is a song on that is moving. (although he's more a rocker than an CW dude). :) (or so he says) hahaha
Yea, I'm quite reassured by the knee issues that I've found out about on the forum here and not going to keep worrying so much. I know she is wobbly on it on uneven ground and will just have to make allowances for that and go on. :)
You just realize that there are so many thing that can become an issue if you don't pay attention, so trying to curtail those possiblities, at least limit them.
hugs all
Sharlene and molly muffin
blue jean skirt would work as well or any short dress and cowboy boots.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D add a hat.
fun time
I never realised the knee issues were so common, although the vet didn't seem overly concerned when she diagnosed it, and just showed us what to do if it happened. It also didn't seem to bother Hamish - he would happily do a 4 or 5 mile walk and just stop if the problem arose and once resolved continue along as if nothing had happened.
I think you'll be fine as long as you have the cowboy boots - they look good with anything.
I'm currently spending the evening staring out of the window - at lunchtime a car sat outside the house for around 15 mins, then returned at 3pm then again at 4pm and after sitting on the road for 15 mins backed onto our drive and sat there for 5-10 mins. I decided to go out and ask what they were doing but as soon as they saw me approaching they sped off the drive (without stopping to see if there were any cars on the road) then ignored the Stop sign at the junction. I called the police as OH told me they were also outside at 7am this morning!!! Fortunately I got the license plate and could describe the car reasonably well, but it's a bit worrying as I have no idea what they could be up to. The police were really nice and spent around an hour checking the local area, and have said to call immediately if it appears again. At least Henry has a bark that's way bigger than him ;)
OMG, that is scary! What on earth could they be up to. Wouldn't thieves be a bit more circumspect about their activities? The driving off, without checking for cars and running stop sign doesn't signify anything good in my book. I'm glad you called the police. Where they going to run the license plates and track down driver? I hope so. Nip this stuff in the bud, whatever it may be.
Don't mess around okay. If you even suspect anything call the police. (speed dial?) make sure the doors and window are locked and you have something by the bed, like a baseball bat or whatever works. I am counting on Henry here!
That is a bit of a problem since I don't own any cowboy boots. :( I use to, but not in a long time. I think Hubs does though! go figure.
hugs,
Sharlene and molly muffin
Best reason I can think of for a shopping trip ;)
OH and I both have some cowboy boots courtesy of a visit to Wall Drug!!
The police didn't say what they would do about the license plate but they were watching the house when OH came home. It's just such strange behaviour - OH's current theory is that it's a spurned lover spying on the people opposite us! I think he's trying to get me to worry less.....
hmm, well that is possible of course. Was it a girl or guy in the car? Could you tell?
I'm sure the police will be proactive though. At least I would hope so!!
hmmmm shopping trip.
Sharlene and molly muffin
I am fairly sure it was a woman, maybe 30s or 40s, however I'm still trying to work out if the passenger window (and therefore there was more than one person) was open when it was on our drive.
I took Henry round the drive when the car was there at lunchtime, because I assumed it was just someone on their cellphone. I keep telling myself that if they intended to do anything to me they would have done it then, but I'm still rather worried.
Well I would worry too. It's just not normal behaviour to stalk anyone's home whether it is yours or a neighbour.
Is this the first time you've ever seen the car around?
Hopefully what ever they were up to you gave them a fright and they won't come back.
Hmmm got a handy camera? If they do come back you can get a pic of them too. :)
Hugs
