Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Hi Sharlene
I fig I would venture out and start visiting!Your little Molly stories cracked me up.What a personality!!Gracie is the late sleeper-Fella was up and ready the moment I opened my eyes. When I used to work days,I would need to leave the house very early(6am),so at 530am I would be calling up to Gracie who was snoozing upstairs.I was completely ignored!Much too early for the queen to get up.I had flashbacks of my mother trying her hardest to wake my brother and I up for school before she left for work.Poor little Fella of course was up at the crack of dawn with me,cuddled while I had my coffee and was ready and waiting.I would always say"you don't have to get up with mommy-it's too early" but nope, mom was up,Fella was up.:).
I do love hearing all the stories-from the sounds of it,they certainly have us all well trained!:D.Today was the day I was to go to St John USVI to visit my friend who lives there.Would love to have her job.She works at the animal shelter/hospital there and spends her days loving all the rescues, organizing fundraisers and taking them out on hikes to the beach.I'd love to plan a week there just to volunteer as it sounds like fun!Hope you have a good weekend, hugs to Molly!

Ha a Molly screaming banshee! Sounds like she is pretty fly with all of that scamping about!! I have become a big believer in treating the dog and not the numbers... and in the this case the dog is saying I am good Mumma!! How cute, so love to read these type of reports :)
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
So glad to hear that Molly is much more herself, screaming Banshee and all! :D It is so nice to hear a happy story!:)

You have to laugh don't you? They are such characters at times, so demanding and bossy, but yet so loveable because of it. Give her a cuddle and a kiss from me. (When you catch her again that is :D)
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Dachshunds are particularly bossy.
If I don't move fast enough, Daisy barks once. Then she waits for a bit, and barks again if I still haven't done what she wants.
Little stinkers :)

Sharlene-
As you know I'm away from home and my computer access is not the best, so I've not had time to fully participate in the forum. I brought along an old laptop, but I age 3 years every time it boots up. It is SOOOO slow.
Anyway-I marvel at how you make the time to jump in on so many forums. I love how encouraging and funny you are. You're a ray of sunshine where it is sorely needed! You're a good angel and I just wanted you to know you're appreciated.:D
Love,
Susan

HI Sharlene,
How is little miss Molly doing? Hope all is well. ;)
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Running around with a stuffed toy sounds like a great way to spend part of the day!! Good news that Molly is chipper, wanting to play and seemingly not dealing with any bad infection!!
Maybe by now you have spoken to the vet. Hope all the news is normal and that Molly is still feeling great!

Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Awww thanks Susan, you're a sweetheart. I guess I just really adore all these wonderful animals and their fabulous people companions (we are here just for them right :) ) Plus knowing how scary I think it is, it's hard to see anyone else go through that and more without a shoulder to lean on. Here we have many wonderfully wide shoulders to share the burden. It's a great group. Love it!
Well, now, no, that Vet still didn't call, I just ran to check voice mail in case, but nope. I'm sure its negative as they are very good about calling right away if there is a problem. That at least I can count on. :) I need to write myself a note so I'll remember during the day to call them. When I'm at work, usually I get busy and forget about calling. I know if I were worried or thought it was positive I'd be all over that phone. LOL
I'm going to set an appointment in my outlook calender right now so it'll beep at me to do it! I'd be so lost without that scheduler.
Hugs is getting the pool opened up and Molly has decided to help him. I do not think he is as appreciative of her efforts as she thinks he should be. She barked at the hose she barked at the salt bags she barked and barked, then she ran around the fence line, stopped and said hello to neighbor next door. (bark bark bark) Tried to follow a squirrel up a tree (what is it with her and trees?!!!!) My neighbor across the street calls her a little scamp. I call her trouble on 4 legs!! LOL Yea, she can't have an infection and act like That!
Thanks for thinking of us!
hugs,
Sharlene and Molly Muffin
Re: Molly, 10 yr, shih tzu - lhasa aspo, cushing diagnosis
Hi Sharlene
Popped in to check Molly's urine result, so I will be back tomorrow for another looksie! Certainly sounds like she is too good for any infection to be bothering here. But you never can tell with these babies, so I would have done as you have and taken in a specimen.
Aww getting the pool ready and here I am constantly sweeping up leaves. Seems like yesterday you were under the snow and I was melting in the heat, how fast the seasons change! Hope you have a good day tomorrow and Molly gets a clear result. We need to get our money's worth from that test  xxx
