Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Awww that's so sweet with the napkin thing... Mum has always done that right back as far as I can remember even when we just had cats! So whenever she comes home Flynn thinks she might have a tasty treat only to be disappointed last year or so with the IBD and strict diets he has not been able to get the treats and Elle gets them!

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
oh how great Tracy! You are going to see the boys. :) I bet they came from same home and need to be together for comfort.
Ask how they get along with other dogs too!! They need to be able to make friends with Mac and the other canines in your circle. :) I bet two would be fun. They do have the JRT's that have the longer hair, sort of whiskers. I think Tipper has that a bit and Squirt did too.
Oh what an interesting day tomorrow will be! I'll be waiting for a report too. hahaha
Mel! Girl, so glad to see you back. Lovely you got some holidays though, nasty about the abscess. Betcha it was a sinus cavity. Man those things can hurt like the dickens too and make you feel like royal crud.
Trish, your mom's day out sounds just perfect. Not sure I've ever had Turkish food. I saw an Afghan restaurant the other day and wondered what sort of food they would have. (if someone says goat I'm outta there).
Bed time for me too gals.

Oh this little chap is quite adorable too. Not a JRT, but very cute too. Rudi the yorkie.

Some very cute staffy's too. It's bad to send me off to one of those links. I want to adopt them all and I'm not even in Scotland!! hahaha
really, going to bed to bed.

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Well I've been to the rescue centre today and wanted to bring them all home :p
I saw Alfie and Ben. Alfie the black scruffy one is one yr old and is a JRT cross Westie knew he wasn't full jack he was very calm and ever so sweet, Ben is a 2 yr old tiny Jack Russell he has the smallest face I've ever seen, he was very scared of me and wouldn't come near. It was thunder and lightning and hail all day today so couldn't take them a walk as staff weren't sure how they would react in it so no dogs were allowed out to walk so spent time with them in the training room. They have never lived indoors and came in together staff wouldn't tell me anymore. There is another family interested in them so will have to wait and see but I have registered for them :D
I also met Greg when I was there, when I found out his story I could have picked him up and took him home there and then. He is 16 years old a bit wobbly on his feet but sharp as a button he came over all wiggly for treats, his old family didn't want him anymore he had been with them his whole life  I couldn't take him as I have stairs in the house and his legs can't so stairs or he would've spent his last days here, I just don't get people sometimes. I hope Greg gets his forever family soon no dog deserves to be in there but at 16 years old he should be on a warm sofa somewhere
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
How terribly sad for Greg I pray someone takes him home to their sofa.
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Awww, I do hope Greg finds a home with a nice warm couch to live out the rest of his days. How sad, that his home family would get rid of him when he got old. That really sucks. :( I hope that wasn't the reason. They'll get old one day too. grrrr
Oh wow the boys have never lived inside??!! I guess I'm use to spoiling my dogs, they have all lived inside, both big and small ones.

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Awww I agree, they too small and cute to live outside. They look so cute Tracy, got my fingers crossed it works out. Poor Greg, that is so sad his family gave him up like that, beggars belief really why people do that. I hope they had some good reason and not that they are heartless shites. If that is the case then he will probably end up somewhere better to live out his life. I am glad you went to see all the boys and give them some happy time with treats!! Be watching to see how this progresses!! Hope your having a good week and that Rachael and Mason are doing well! x

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Well some good news and no so good news. Little Greg the 16 yr old JRT has found a new home yay he will have that warm sofa, I couldn't be more happy i couldn't stop thinking about him :D not so good news for me is little Alfie and Ben are going to another family, I wasn't quick enough lol but at least they have a new family :D
Mason is doing great, Rachel isn't great she's ok but still very pale, her stitches aren't knitting together and she has a little infection so more antibiotics and iron tablets so they are staying put at my sisters till she is stronger. She sends me at least 3 pictures of him everyday :D
I have a bit of a work dilema going on, so I have requested a meeting with the new boss, as that's my 3 months training over and I'm still not doing my proper job
So to cheer myself up I have booked a holiday for September, a little holiday cottage in the Lake District a place I love and visited often with Woody. The cottage allows dogs as you never know what will happen between now and then :p
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hi Tracy,
Oh I am so glad that Greg has found a nice warm couch to spend his remaining days on and a family to give him hugs and kisses.
So, sorry that the two Alfie and Ben aren't coming home to you, but I'm glad they found a forever home together. Now you know, also, that two might be an interesting option for you. Such fun!! I'm sure that others will pop up that might work out and when it's right, it will be Very right.
Poop on the work situation. I hope that ends up being resolved to your satisfaction as it is always such stress when things aren't going right at work and have to be sorted out. Best to just get it over with.
Oh the Lake District! How wonderful! I've seen so many pictures of that area and one of my favorite writers lives and sets his stories in the lake district, Stephen Booth. It is one of my dream areas to go to one day. Just so beautiful!

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Ah well the search goes on, I am so glad those 3 boys have found forever homes and hope they will be very happy, especially Greg in his twilight years!
Did the work meeting go OK? Hope it all gets sorted out, good for you addressing it.
It is so good to have a nice holiday to look forward too, that Lake District is so pretty, I watch a show on Sky every now and then about that area looks like a lovely place to wander about and I can see why you and Woody would have liked it. Maybe you will have a new little mate by then to go with you!
Poor Rachael, sounds like she is still having a rough time... your sister will be lavishing all her lovely cooking on them!!
Pleased to read Woody's memorial bench is in place, I can just picture you sitting there and chilling out watching the world go by! See you on the weekend Tracy!! Your half way through Friday now, so end of the working week in sight YAY! xx

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Tracy:
What a wonderful idea making a memorial bench for Woody. That could be a quiet place to go and communicate with him. Blessings

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hello all
It's been a long week but it's the weekend now yipee. And I will whisper this we,ve had really hot sun for 2 days it's great :D
Rachel and Mason went home to there on place last night, my sister wanted her to stay longer but she wanted to go home, but as she only lives 10 mins from her mum then she can still keep an eye on her
My work meeting went not to bad got most of the answers I was looking for maybe not the right answers but will give it some thought over the weekend.
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hey!! Happy Friday, you home already! Yes it has been a long week here too. Did not finish everything Friday, had thoughts of going into work today. But now the sun is shining on this chilly morning so any thoughts of work are out the window :D It can wait till Monday
Ohhh I hope you can stay at that place, I remember when you got the job some of the HR processes were dodgy, hope they have sorted their act out now.
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Work decisions always seem to take a lot of brain power. Hahaha. Hope you figure things out and it works out for the best of what you are looking for from them.
Did someone say sun!! I hope we have some sun and warmth this weekend. I'm definitely ready.
So glad that Rachel and Mason are good to go home to their own place.
(Yet close enough for mom and auntie to pop in!) hehe
Enjoy the weekend
Hugs

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Yeah wasn't out long tonight as my friend was just out of hospital today so she was tired, she had acute pancreatitis and she was treated pretty much like the vets treat a dog with the same illness, I thought it was rather funny.
I'm not sure I,ll stay at this job I'm just bored, it doesn't challenge me enough but it is close to home and is an income. I've moved departments today, and will finally be doing part if the job I should be doing so I suppose it's a start
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hi Sharlene - don't they just! I wish I could win lotto and take the rest of the decade off!! Actually, I would want to keep going a couple of days a week as I generally love my job but the politics of the workplace as we all seem to experience get to me sometimes. But I just use my "ignore" coping mechanism and it generally goes away!! That's my strategy anyway :D
Yeah, we have sun but not much warmth, inside with the heater on will a little crack in the door so Flynny can come and go as he pleases!
Ohhh hope Rachael is feeling better and that infection has settled down, must be if she is off to her own place!
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Rach is a bit better the midwife was in today for her last visit and she hugged Rachel and said you poor mite you,ve been through the mill. Mandy wanted her to stay but she wants to get in a routine as her partner is due back at work next week.
It's 11pm and still 15 degrees which is really warm for us in Scotland lol
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Yes good idea to get herself into her routine... not far to go help her out if she needs it.
Are you looking elsewhere? Always good to have the option of doing that and better when you are still in a job to keep the bills paid.
Ha did you ask your friend what her spec-Cpl was??
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
hahahaha... I live backing onto a school. On the weekends they play sports on the fields. Just heard the gate open and eeeek, two young boys about 13 striding across the yard.. here is me sitting in my nightie and pink socks LOL.... hiding behind the door and they wanted to go find their soccer ball that went over the fence and is stuck in the wilderness behind the garage, Flynn went with them to look!! They probably talking about that nutty woman over the fence!!
It is 10.30am Saturday morning here, 7 C... not a cloud in the sky so it should warm up soon!
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
I did actually ask her that ha ha. She was starved for 24 hrs then fed little and often light meals I was falling about laughing, she has came home with tramadol, buscopan, and cerina tablets all which I've given to Bruno ha ha. I did have to explain why I was laughing so much.
Yeah I'm going to start looking around for another job, the politics or bollocks as I call it in this place just brings me down at times, but today I just smiled, I'm just going to rise above it all, :D
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Ha ha your one classy lady with your pink socks on, painting a great picture there
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Haha that is funny, our secretary was telling me about her health woes the other day. She has developed high blood pressure (the poor thing no wonder, looking after all of us!) she told me her GP had started her on Amlodipine... my first reaction "ohhh Flynny is on that and he is doing really well" :D:D she thought it very funny that she is taking the same meds as my dog!!!
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
I've always thought it equally funny and interesting how some human and dog ailments are treated with the same kinds of meds and in the same way, I've used a lot of human meds on the dogs over the years With the vets permission as it's cheaper, Craig was really good at letting me know what I could use like antacids, creams, priobiotic as human was cheaper :D
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
One sign of a good vet, giving you cheaper options!! Ohhh and whats wrong with my pink socks LOL... poor boys, hope I did not give them a fright. But the dressing gown is hanging up and I could not get it from the bedroom without passing the open window.. . they probably scarred for life!
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
That is funny! It's true though. I mean we're warm blooded mammals and the meds should basically work in the same way. Theoretically of course. Lol. It is funny though.
Well if you are bored and not challenged you wouldn't likely want to be there long term unless something really changed. Hopefully it will and if not maybe start looking around like Trish said.
I love what I do and sometimes I say to myself can you believe I get paid to do this!! Yet there is the dynamics and politics and personnel being moved so sometimes you are swamped and other times yawning your head off. It can be a rough balancing act.
Close to home is good though. Lol. Especially in the winter.
Poor friend I hope that she gets to feeling better soon
Hugs

Well I'm off to sleep busy day tomorrow, got to get the shopping in and then cut mums grass pfft woman's work is never done :D
Have a good day hopefully catch you over the weekend
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Have a good sleep Tracy!! Nice to lie in tomorrow!! I do not have many set plans for this weekend so will probably be about! Lovely to chat as always! xx
Sharlene, are you officially finished for the weekend now?
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
I am done. Like you though there are a few things I am thinking of peeking in on during the weekend. Haven't really decided though.
Just had fish and chips for dinner. Now I am in brain dead mode. Lol
Have a good night Tracy. See ya on the weekend.

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Pfft big thunder storm going on right now, it's knocked my power off and the street is like a river not saw one of these so big here for years. Looks like early bed with no power no TV
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Eek! Hopefully no flooding though!
Sleep well. If I am not worried about a dog freakin or a tornado then there is nothing better than snuggling in and snoozing to a thunderstorm.
Hugs

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Lordy, that is no good! Hope your river doesn't burst again Tracy. Keep dry! x
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Think the river may be ok but we still have thunder and lightning and still no power good job I charged my phone. Not seen it like this in years murphy my brothers dog is under his bed hiding wee soul
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Stink, yes lucky you are all charged up! I love a good thunder storm, but like Sharlene only if flooding not a worry and I do feel bad for the poor things, shame they cannot even turn on the telly to drown it out with no power.
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Well, look who's chatting. Hello ladies. I took today off to decompress after our fire scare.

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
I've been watching it from the window, it's pretty loud and lots of fork lightning about, glad woody not here to see it cause my arm would be falling off throwing the ball to distract him :D
Shouldn't you be at work Trish
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hey Kathy! How's the air quality?? HOpe you have caught up on your sleep sweet!!
