Buddy, The Mighty Lizard Hunter - Suspected Pituitary Macro Tumor

It's so quiet without Buddy. :o He was always telling the birds off for invading his airspace or yapping at the parrot taunting him over the fence. He always had so much to say! Rosie is sweet and loving and totally agreeable. I haven't even heard her bark except for a little yip when we were playing. Buddy had a set of lungs on him and he would bark like a big dog. Rosie's little yip would totally embarrass him. I miss Buddy's personality. He was a huge presence in a little package.

I can imagine the void in your life without Buddy. He was just so adorable, and always doing remarkable things. I am sure the silence without his bark anymore is deafening. The reminders of little things in your every day life that Buddy did can be soothing, and at the same time heart wrenching. My heart goes out to you, as he was irreplaceable and always will be. I know you would give anything in the world to hear that bark one more time, as I would like wise give anything to open up this site and see a cute story about what Buddy was doing. You fall hard for these babies, and harder yet when they are no longer with us. Blessings

Hey Kathy, thanks for checking in on me, now my turn to check in on you :p Hope you're doing ok, missing Buddy awfully but taking some comfort in knowing he is happy and comfortable again. I'm glad to hear Rosie is doing so well and is such a little angel, they are so cute as pups. Enjoy your holiday time with her and celebrate your memories of Buddy, I'm sure he's up there going nuts at those Lizards.

I am doing about as well as can be expected. There will never be another Buddy and I'm having a hard time processing that, as he was one-of-a-kind. I did not have that instant connection with Rosie. She is very sweet and loving, but it is not the same.:o Buddy's smell has evaporated from his cuddle blanket and Froggy. I can't smell him anymore.:o

Big hugs my dear. Try not to work too hard. They don't deserve you!

I think that you have to take each hr as it comes till you can handle days. I am not really sure how I got to this point in time I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and hoping for the best.

Sorry his blanket has lost his smell I know that must have been a small comfort while you could still smell him, wish there was a way you could have preserved it

I'm sorry Buddy's blanket lost his smell.
I sleep holding Scoop's blanket and his little coat he wore when it was cold out. I always smell them but they don't smell like Scoop so I just hold them tight.

Yes Vicki, there is strength to go on in numbers. We have an entire brigade of angels supporting us. I know how much you miss Scoop. Do whatever you need to get through. I cling to Buddy's cuddle blanket and stuffed frog, just like you do Scoop's things. You will get through this with support from all of us and I will too, but it takes time. Big hugs my dear,

How are you and Rosie today? I am having a lovely morning catching up on the chores after my little trip away... all you suffering in the heat would love it here today, gorgeous sunny winter's morning... quite warm so all the windows are open to let the sunshine and fresh air in. Flynn is patrolling outside, that darn cat next door has been visiting again so he is leaving messages for her all over! I love lazy weekend mornings :D:D

It does sound beautiful there! I am jealous. Read Rosie's thread later on and you'll see that we had a few incidences yesterday. It is going to be really hard to keep this little one safe.:o

How are you and my boy? Did any more toys arrive? Was Flynny well behaved at your folks?

Rosie is mad at me at the moment, so she's pouting in her crate. I trimmed her paw pads and feet today. She wasn't thrilled about the ordeal! I do all the grooming myself as I did for Buddy, so she has to get used to it. The sooner I start, the easier it will be. Basically, she'll eventually give up fighting and go with the flow. She squirmed on the first paw, and cried like she was being beaten. I ignored it and the last three paws, she stayed still and quiet. So, that's why she's pouting! Rosie 0 me 1!:D

Good idea getting her used to it at a young age though, the vet has asked me to look inside Flynns mouth to get him used to that, so we can check for any new ulcers of which there are none! He hates it but is getting used to it. He IS food motivated so I can bribe him with a wee treat!

Yes, Have to do it when they are young! I never had any problem brushing Buddy's teeth because I started when he was a puppy. I have already started doing Rosie's teeth every couple of days, Even though she only has a handful of them!:D That is why I am handling her paws often. They are a sensitive part and most often don't want them fooled with. If you do it enough, it becomes no big deal! Basically, they submit and you get the job done. Rosie is still pouting and giving me the stink eye!:D xxx

Awww poor girl, she will get over it. I keep telling Flynn... I am the Alpha, you young dog are the Beta!

I am totally bummed out now. I was just reading through the list of fur babies lost so far in 2013, so I could pray for them and their families. There are 44 of them and it's only July. That is so sad and depressing.:o My best Buddy is only one of many casualties. I am off to light a candle for them all. Bless all of you who have ever lost a beloved fur baby. I wish I could hug you all individually.:) Big hugs,

Wonderful thought to light a candle for all the fur babies. I think of you and Buddy every day. I pray for all who have lost a baby to this wretched disease, but I did not realize there were that many this year. The sheer numbers of those that passed are numbing. This disease has to have some research to find a cure. Blessings

Hello Angels, I have a plumeria bush that hasn't bloomed for three years. It is my favorite plant. A cutting from a dear friend was given to me many years ago. I have to continually cut it back as it would block the walkway, so it rarely blooms. I love the fragrance of a blooming plumeria. My plumeria started to grow the stalk to bloom 2 days after Buddy passed. It is in full bloom now. I'd like to think that he made this miracle happen for me. Big flowing tears......

I love plumeria too--it's a heavenly scent!! My mother is from Hawaii and I spent many summers there...when I smell Plumeria it reminds me of being a little kid and visiting my Grandmother on Maui.
Wish I could smell some now!!

My parents took a cutting from a cactus that belonged to my aunt in Tennessee. It never flowered, but did grow so they left it there in the side of the house. It has survived many winters outdoors in CT.

My aunt passed away and every year that cactus blooms like mad!

Aw, thats so cool, i bet Buddy visited!!!!!

I turned the page to August on my calendar. There is a picture of a little tan dog with a Buddy's smile looking back.:p
