Gina,
Believe it or not, there are some of us out here waiting to read every word that you post (even the parts about poop and pee!)
Even if we can't always post a reply to you, we're reading what you write! :D
some (((hugs))) from me for Lucy :)

Gina,
I knew nothing about "the chart" until members here enlightened me last year. Now I keep it available for reference at all times. You never know when it will come in handy....like now, for instance. :D Ah-ha..I see..so it's a toss up between the ole' sausage and blob. From another proud member of the Poop Patrol, I second what Cushy said. We want to know every little detail.
FYI.....this is why Susy (Wyllie's Mom) is interested in having a color coded chart: :D :D
If the fellows with the white coats come...I'm afraid they'll have to chase after all of us with their nets!!!Quote:

....after the IMS visit, he did have some softer stool, pumpkin colored, with a splash of French’s yellow mustard looking stuff.
Hope you and Lucy get a good night's rest.

Morning everyone:)
Lucy started to drink ridiculous amounts of water around 3:30 a.m., and urinating a lot...so I gave her her DDAVP drop in conjunctiva now, around 4:30. She had her last one yesterday at 9 a.m. I e-mailed Dr. B to get further instructions, but thought you guys might be up and have an idea. She's now down to 1/2 cortisone acetate (12.5 mg) twoce a day, and only one DDAVP drop. I figure dosage needs to be tweaked or something. Either that or I'm not getting it in her conjunctiva correctly. Why do these things always happen at 4 in the morning?

Never mind...heard from Dr. B and it's not such a big deal...I just have to monitor water consumption and we may have to increase the drops to twice a day.
I know this isn't as fascinating or exciting as the poo...sorry:p

Oh Gina,
Honey, Whenever I see you post I get anxious, altho I don't reply bc I don't have any sound advice for you, I really look forward to your updates. I am so happy Lucy is improving and I want to hear all the poop and pee and whatever else you have to say, I never knew there was a poop chart, so there, I learned something too :D
Hi Gina,
I am just thrilled to read all the posts while I was away! There was no computer access but my heart kept saying all was well....and it is actually more than well!!!! :D It is wonderful that beautiful Goo is doing so much now...and such lovely poops, too! :p
The meds will fall in place soon, for Lucy and you! I bet your twitcher is wide open and will be for a while, but things will settle down in time. Do keep up the posting...I want to know every little thing our girls are doing. :)
Hugs and belly rubs,
Leslie and the girls
PS. It figures....I go away for a few days and ya'll have a poop party! But even tho I'm late, I do have somethings to offer that the "old timers" may remember and the new folks will enjoy....:p

Hi all....
Lucy seems to be a little more alert/visual every day, but I'm worried about her arthritis. She still can't get up on her own at all, and can't seem to move by herself when she's lying down. I've been trying to get her up at least every couple hours to get her moving a little. I know Cosequin has worked wonders for her before, but she's never been this bad...so I'm wondering if it's just postop and getting older too. Dr. B said we may have to put her on an NSAID. I know it's frustrating for her too...she can't do what she wants when she wants to do it. So I was thinking today...water therapy:eek: What do you guys think? I have to check with the doctor, of course, but I've seen it on the news and it seems to work wonders with dogs.
Other than that she's eating like a champ and is doing very well, all things considered.
Hope everyone is well,
Gina and Lucy
Hi Gina,
I try to keep up with the latest that is going on at some of the premier veterinarian schools in the country and last week I ran across a video of an interview with Dr. Kei Hayashi, an orthopedic surgeon at the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Check out the sweetie in the tank to his left....kinda looks like your Lucygoo.

Hi Gina,
Are they having you do any kind of physical therapy on Lucy now? Like moving her legs while she is laying down, or anything?
Hi Gina,
I think it is too soon to add much.
The more you add the more complicated this issue.
I think let her rest and assist with the mobility issues.
Moria gets adaquane once monthly after a loading of once weekly for 4 weeks, it is really good for her joint issues, which are mainly hip.
If this was me I think I would be doing pain relieving meds until the healing from the surgery was past and then put a program together to address the arthritis issues. There is much you can do there but in my experience it takes judging the mobility and pain level of the pup and as close as you are to the surgery, you really cannot do that.
