Thank you all for your well wishes. :) Rosebud is doing great. She is asleep in the crate. Her nickname will probably be Rosie. She is extremely well socialized. She already follows me around just like Buddy did, but she's much quieter than Buddy. I miss Buddy so much. Rosie is not Buddy. She will never be able to fill his paw prints, but she will be very much loved. My world has been set up right once again. My dad has already come around, for someone that did not want another dog in the house. He took Buddy's 4 gates and tied them together to make a playpen for Rosie. That way she can be out back while I'm in the pool and can see me. I use the side fenced in yard for her to take care of her business. She is not allowed in the backyard with the pool unless someone is right there. Both of the folks are fine with her now. It is mind blowing!:D

Just an idea, When our Roxee and Rozee were just puppies, we took them both in the pool to teach them how and where to get out in case they ever fell in. We did this everyday until they knew without hesitation where the steps were. :):)

One day we were out in the yard and we heard splashing... we looked over and both of them were just swimming around and having fun. Ever since then we called them our aqua pups, they loved to swim and if we didn't throw the ball in the pool, they would run over to the far side, drop the ball in the pool, then run over to the steps, jump in and retrieve their own ball. Oh how they loved to swim :D Sometimes they would just jump in and get on my lounger and lay down and float around... they had it made LOL.

Oh my goodness!!!! What a surprise to log on and see this great news, so so so so happy for you Kathy! Good on your Mom and Dad for coming around to the idea of a new bundle of fluff to brighten up your home!. Rosie's pics are adorable :D:D I hope she has a good sleep for her first night and hope you have a good sleep finally too now you have a new bundle of fluff to keep your feet warm!! What a lucky wee Miss she is, finding herself a perfect doggy haven!! I am sure Buddy is pleased to see a smile back on your face too xxxx

Oh Kathy, I feel so peaceful and so grateful reading about little Rosie's entrance into your life. Peaceful for you, and grateful that this baby girl has found her loving forever home. It reminds me of the day we brought Peg home after Barkis died. She was very different from him in many ways, but somehow that actually made things easier for us because she was totally her own little self and the comparisons soon dropped away.

Every year on her birthday, I hold her close and also silently thank Barkie for having her in our life. Had he not filled our hearts so hugely, we would not have known that we would not have peace again until another furbaby joined us. And had he not passed at the exact time he did, Peg would not be our precious girl now. She was the last pup of a large litter who was all alone and so needing to find her forever home right at that time. Without his life and without his death, we would not have her with us now. I like to think that he is her big brother in spirit, and that he awaits her tenderly until it also becomes her time to run to The Bridge to join him.

I am so glad you have Rosebud, and that Rosebud has you. And I thank dearest Buddy for allowing this new love to blossom.

Thank you so much for your message. It was so beautiful! Rosie slept all night with only a couple short whimpers, but no crying! I actually slept too! I just took her from her mom. I expected lots of commotion last night, but nothing. Xxxxxxx

Hi Kathy, just read your post that the mighty Buddy has moved to bigger lizard hunting over the rainbow bridge. So sorry to hear that news, I know you will continue to miss him terribly but it is nice that you have little Rosie to help fill those holes and start a whole new brand of fun and love. We can never replace them but we can share our lives with other amazon pups.

Rosie is a smart one just like Buddy. I taught her how to fetch and return in about 10 minutes. She actually brought back the toy consistently at least a dozen times in a row! Not bad for 10 weeks! :D If anyone wants to see the video of Rosie fetching, Please PM me with your email address. I did not keep them after sending Buddy's smile video. :cool: Rosie had her first bath today. I will download that photo to her album. She slept the entire night in her crate only whimpering once or twice for just a few seconds. She was quiet until after I was up this morning. I actually slept for the first time last night. I will be taking her to the vet either tomorrow or Wednesday for her puppy physical and shots. Xxxxx

Did Rosie get all frisky after her bath? Can't believe what a quick learner she is. Sounds like you have a knack for training Kathy! :p I'd love to see the video! Trixie will fetch but she won't bring whatever is thrown back to me!

Hi Trish, I have missed you. I am doing okay now. I miss Buddy terribly. Our house is filled with his energy and I feel him everywhere. Rosie has helped my need to nurture. I slept for the first time last night since Buddy passed.That was the only because I had another little fur baby who needed me in the room. Rosie is delightful, sweet, and smart. Most of all she's filled with puppy energy which is exactly what I need right now. Buddy was a forever love. You only encounter a few of those in your lifetime. I was extremely blessed that he was mine. Thank you for holding me together through the nights while the white vans were circling. Big hugs,
