Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Can understand that policy. I googled the train journey from Glasgow to Southampton and that's like 3 changes and 7 hours. Not great at all. Yes am sure there will be another in need which pains me as people suck sometimes.
I never let them out of my sight, they can run ahead but they always have to be able to see me that's my rule. They are good as they do always look back to check.
Can't believe it's Sunday night again so quickly wishes we had a 3 day weekend!
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Never mind a 3 day weekend a 3 day working week would do better lol.
I have the same rule with the dogs about looking back. I had chicken burgers for dinner tonight the homemade apple pie sister made me it.
Sadly yes some people suck when it comes to animals, but I now have a clearer picture of the mind of dog I'm looking for x

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
That would be a long way to travel, and I can understand that policy too. It is similar here, except the rescue staff does a series of home visits to the prospective home also. They have to make sure the yard is fenced appropriately and safe, home is safe, how the rest of the family seems, etc. It is necessary unfortunately because there are a lot of horrible people out there.
Lol, a 3 day work week would be grand, wouldn't it? :)

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Yes Tina I would need to go through a home check to make sure the house and garden are in order, and to make sure I'm not a nutter ha ha would pass the home and garden check with no worries. Such a shame he is so far away
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Yes, that is a shame. That is even more prohibitive since they would have to do a home visit also. Well, I am going to look at it as there is another little soul out there just waiting to come home with you which is more meant to be. Things happen for a reason. :)
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
I would love to work less. Not looking forward to tomorrow :(
At least little Eddie has opened up the possibility now, like Tina says there must be another who needs you more. That's what I like to think anyway.
Hope Trish is ok, I hoped she would post this morning but she must have rushed up the hospital. We will just have to think positive thoughts for them all
Sucks you still have rubbish weather, I know it's never great in Scotland but would be nice for you to see a bit of sun! What time is mac rocking up tomorrow?
Xxx

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Sorry popped over to make sure all was in place for Mac tomorrow. While we were sitting talking a little mouse ran along the kitchen floor Shudder Mac ran in the opposite direction and I was up on the kitchen table haha A hazard of living in the country but I hate them. Mac arrives tomorrow.
Yeah I hope Trish is holding up she is under a lot of stress, I do hope she is looking after herself don't need her getting sick

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Mac's not the warrior type then. Bless him running the other way :D
Will be nice for you to have him for company am sure he will love staying at yours xxxx

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hi girls - here I am! Thanks for thinking of me... omg Eddie is adorable. So love the wee terriers especially when they have their tails!! Think I will have to fly over to Glasgow, share the driving with you Tracy and go get the little chap. We can swing past Mel's on the way home to show him to Boycie. Then relax at your house for a week and drink the whiskey from your work, that should do it!! xxxx

Tracy:
Sorry the puppy was too far away. I am sure there will be others that are closer to you. At least you know you are able to open your heart to another baby. Blessings

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Trish that sounds like a plan, and we all know how we like plans here :D
Mac has arrived, and has more baggage that a human going on holiday  We have had a walk around the football field, he,s had some dinner and is now fast asleep on the sofa :D His dad brought him over and stayed for a coffee, whilst we were chatting about Mac,s routine we realised we hadn,t seen him in a few minutes, so went to look and yip he was asleep on my bed, safe to say he is quite at home here in Tracy,s Hotel for Dogs ;)
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Great!! Sounds like your house is his home away from home, just as good hotels should be :D Where is he going to sleep tonight, will he stay on your bed?
How's your Mum?
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Yeah he will probably sleep at the bottom of my bed, then when he gets too hot he goes to his own bed in the living room, or at least that's what he did the last time he stayed. He has been to the groomers today and is all nice and clean, won,t last long though.
Mum is doing ok, getting around with the help of her sticks, now had she used her sticks in the first place she wouldn,t have fell, but its all that pride thing that they do, your mum sounds the same. Glad she is out of hospital
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Glad to hear about your Mum, god they are such a worry aren't they. Mum does not need sticks, I do notice she is getting stiffer though with arthritis. But she is like a bull at a gate, she gets up out her chair and races off and I am always saying SLOW DOWN or you will trip and fall!!!
The funny thing is, it is about the same time last year when she had the last episode of arrhythmia that landed her in hospital and me on an urgent flight back from Melbourne where I had been at my yearly conference. I decided not to go to this years one, it is in Brisbane and started on Saturday!! Just goes to show that I have a major conference jinx lol, so pleased I did not go as I would have had to dash back home again! Missing catching up with all my friends there though, it's like a yearly get together.
Mac will be comfy down the bottom there!! Hope he sleeps OK!
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Goodness you must be physic, not to go this year. Parents yeah who would have them lol. I,m used to mum falling and being sick, she has been in and out of hospitals since I was 5 yrs old. She was told when I was 15 that with her arthritis she would be in a wheel chair within 2 years, and she was like not bloody likely, so she gets up and forces herself to go about her business and so far no wheel chair. :D
I hope Mac sleeps too as we will need to be up early for his walk before I go to work, then I can come home at lunchtime and see to him again. He has put on some weight since he last stayed, so need to get that off him, his dad is terrible for giving him treats :D
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Haha the "Tracy Hotel for Dogs" is also a fitness farm! He is going to love it, well maybe not the downturn in his treats!
Your Mum is a feisty one, love that attitude, nothing going to keep her down. Must have rubbed off on her daughter!!
I am going back to work tomorrow  STINK! But hopefully all will be well and Dad will not be readmitted to hospital today. I have been doing his dressing and it is still oozing, perhaps a little less and the wound is looking OK. Speaking of which, I need to head off as he has to be at the hospital at 10 and he hates running on my time schedule which tends to be late  so I better head off and get organised. Hope the first night goes well, I will check in later to see how it went! xxx

That's Trish everything crossed for your dad and his appointment :)

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Sounds like you and Mac are going to have a fun time of it this month. Isn't that wonderful that he is so comfy at your place. I think that is really nice for him. So many of them stress when their people are away, but Mac sounds like he is okay with it as long as he has you.
Sleep well!

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Well that's the first 24 hours over phew. No just kidding Mac slept really well last night, he snored and dreamt all night, me I barely slept not used to the noise and movement ha ha. It was a different story at 6 am this morning he wouldn't go out, well it was sideways rain but he did eventually go out with some gentle persuasion :D
When I came home from work he had pulled his blanket off the sofa along with a pillow and had some how managed to out the TV on. Now it may just fell on the floor and hit the on button or I am looking after a clever doggy. He's had a walk in the park and is now asleep. so we,ve survived only 30 days to go x

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Ha, sounds like he is getting up to mischief while you are out at work, the little rascal!! How is he doing through the day or are you calling in each lunchtime to check on him? He is probably sleeping most the day to keep his energy up to play with you all night!! Hope your having fun with him xx
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hey Trish
I come home each lunch time just to check on him and for a short toilet break, but he has to be the laziest dog I know lol. He sleeps most of the day, then has his long walk at night and he,s in bed by 9pm each night. He,s hating the 6 am walks, I literally have to carry him out the front door and he looks at me like "really ! its still dark crazy woman" Can you tell he lives with a retired couple :D But he is a good little dog, its a bit weird that he doesn,t beg for food, I,m so used to a dog that wants food 24/7. He isn,t a great eater but I,ve sussed that he wants treats instead of food, so it will be a battle of wills, and I will win, no treats till all dinner is eaten so he is learning

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Oh gee, more rain!!! Yikes. Hope there isn't any flooding and your friends place will stay dry.
Mac sounds like a real sweetheart. He's obviously had a pretty good time of it, sleeping in morning, treats when he wants LOL Now That is a dogs life!

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hi Tracy
That little Mac is going to be superfit by the time he goes back to his parents, nice he sleeps while you are away. Least he is not fretting!! Ouchies your poor back, hopefully just a little tweak lifting those sandbags, did the river subside without damaging your friends home? Imagine coming back from your holiday to a flooded house
It's Friday night for you, so your probably out with your mates for dinner celebrating the end of the week! If so, hope the bellini's are going down well :D I am here for an hour or two before I head off to the hairdresser to get the silvers covered! xx
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)

hope you're having a good evening Tracy

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
We,re back from my mates. I wasn't going to go as it meant leaving Mac too long but he was allowed to come with me :D So we had fun and only a couple Bellini,s  Mac is now asleep in my bed.
No flooding of the river yet, but have had more rain so have left the sand bags in place. Since Marie left I've had 3 emails asking about Mac and a picture of her sun
I'm off out tomorrow night with two of my old school friends, we,ve kept in touch and meet up a few times a year so I guess more food, bellinis and some good old catch up I'm looking forward to it. Hope everyone has a good weekend
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Funny Sharlene mentioned Mac having a bellini, then this photo appeared on facebook today. I think it is Mac and friends having bellini's, one looks a bit like Zoe too... hope she has tasty drinks over the bridge!!

Hey! Are you up in the middle of the night, or just getting in?
-
Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Probably just getting in Trish ha. Had a great night last night there was lots of Bellini,s and other cocktails lots of laughter and even some dancing  just what I needed. It was a late night 2 am I got home but I am feeling fine today, the sun is shining so I may potter about the garden with Mac today

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Whoo hooo Tracy! That sounds like a really great evening! Love it! Just what every girl needs now and then.
We have sunshine too, but it's bloody cold out there (and still snow on the ground at -9C) so no puttering around here. LOL Enjoy the day!

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Hi all
Things are going well this week so far. Mac is doing fine and is finally getting up by himself for his morning walk. I have cooked stewed sausage for tea, it was Woodys favourite titbit so I haven't eaten it since he left but made it today and it felt right that Mac had a little too. He woofed it down so guess it was a hit with him :D

Re: Confused and Overwhelmed-Diagnosed Anal Sac Carcinoma (Woody has passed)
Awwwww, treats for both of you. Woody won't mind you sharing this special tradition.
