I'm here, too, sending prayers and all my well wishes. I wish Daniel was right there beside you, as I'm sure you do, too -- for many reasons. But we will do our very best to fill in for him. We will stay with you through the night, Sharlene, and we are all wishing your family well.

They can do amazing things with hearts nowadays and he's at a good hospital.

Dad had a heartattack that required a agent to unblock. This procedure is much less invasive than it used to be. Recovery is almost instant. Hugs

Okay so all I know at this point is that, they had to use the paddles on him twice. It was before they had rolled him to his stomach to do the surgery, which would have been a very different outcome, because it would have taken too long. If they hadn't transferred him to Stanford, it might have had a different result too.

They lost pulse, used paddles, then a short time later, it happened again and they used the paddles.

We're waiting on report of damage, and evaluation and to see what they have done.

The risk might be too great that if he survives this heart episode, that they might not be able to do the back surgery at all. His spine is unstable and it would mean months of not being able to move from a bed, to let the spine fuse on it's own. That takes a very long long time to occur. So much is dependent on what happens tonight and the days to come.

My sister told me not to stay up all night, but I don't see how I could possibly sleep with this going on and then Daniel surgery tomorrow. Thank god, molly isn't having anything going on this week and I told her already, don't think you can go wonky on me too little miss.

We all rally by your side, Sharlene with positives thoughts for only good outcomes.

So sorry to hear about everything your family is facing this week Sharlene. I will be thinking of you all and hope that things will improve very quickly.
As others have said the doctors can do some amazing things with hearts and your BIL is in good hands.
I know it will be difficult but please take some time to look after yourself and try to rest - my old doctor used to say that even just resting the body helped.

I am happy to hear Daniel surgery went well and is coming along thank goodness.

I am saddened to hear about your BIL, I will keep him and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Take care of yourself Sharlene, this kind of stress can take its toll. Try and rest when you can even for short periods at a time.
