I just might cancel Christmas if my kids don't straighten up. Nobody wants to talk about it yet... well, I've got news for them. They either tell me by this weekend, or it's cancelled. :D

Molly had a beauty appt.?? How did the nail clipping go? Love those stories about Molly exhibiting her attitude when it's manicure time! :D
Hope it went well...I'm sure she is looking beautiful as always! ;)

Molly, the diva, is not impressed with the new hair cut. I don't think she ever is LOL The tail now tickles her bare bum and she jumps and looks back at it. Then it's too short, so she gets cold, but she would rather not have the coat put on her. Of course she prances down the sidewalk once it is, but she pulled my blanket off me last night and curled up in it, so she'd be cozy beside me on the couch. I got another blanket, and let her have that one, she got it over and under her, so I figured that much effort she wanted it more than I did.
The nail clipping as usual was an ordeal. I held her and she made groaning sounds buried her face in my chest, and then would snap at the groomer AFTER the nail was clipped. For goodness sake. She never actually even tried hard enough to reach the groomer, so I know it was all for show and so did the groomer who knows her pretty well. She'd say, miss molly, what do you think you are doing, you know I'm not hurting you, I have never hurt you, now just behave yourself and this will all be over with in a moment. Yea, like that Worked. NOT. Back into the chest her head went till the next toe got clipped. It was funny hearing the groomer explain to molly that her dew claws don't hit the ground and her back claws don't make enough contact because she prances, so she has to get this done. I was laughing something awful and made it hard to hold on to the miss wiggle worm.
All is well, we seem to be forgiven for our transgressions now. LOL It's cold, she'll be wearing those coats for awhile!

Sharlene and Molly Muffin
Valerie, did you purchase your fleece lined stockings online? I went to Macy's today and I was told they didn't have them. I could really use them this winter. Does the waist band roll down? :D Thanks.
I just love reading about Miss Molly's adventures - it sounds like she has a great groomer.
Those fleece tights sound interesting - for those who have tried them, do you think they would work for skating?
Macy's is out of them online too, but this site has some.
http://www.polyvore.com/fleece_tight...=fleece+tights
hmm, there are different kinds so think some of them could work for skating.
Yes Molly amuses me a good bit too! LOL

Oh gawd, that sounds like quite the ordeal for her. I have figured the best way to trim Flynns claws is to stand him on the table, lift up a leg kind of backwards like you were filing a horses hoof, still it is a bit traumatic so I ask the vet nurses to do it after he has his BP checks and then he does not have to hate me for doing it to him. I snipped one a little too close when he was little and it bled  he has never forgiven me for that one.
I have you booked in for the sleepover, sounds like I am going to be running quite the bed and breakfast, the more the merrier :D
Thanks Sharlrne, that link is very helpful. I think I can find one or two pairs there. Song. :)
Sharlene:
It is a good thing that since she was little Tipper wore coats, T shirts, hats, etc. because now since her hair is so sparse she really needs to wear them. At the vets the other day they all remarked that she is the only Jack Russell they have ever seen that will wear clothes. Her belly is shaved most of the time from all these ultra Sounds etc. so she really has no fur underneath at all. I can just picture Molly getting those nails done. Why do all the dogs hate it so? I have to let the vet's do Tipper now as she will snip you a good one, if she even sees you looking at her feet she goes crazy. I dare not touch a pair of scissors either. I was getting a pair out to cut paper and there she was flashing the teeth at me. I have to bribe her with dog food nuggets to sit her on the vanity and let me trim her. I guess from all the attention they get the poor things can't help but get spoiled. Blessings
Patti
Trixie's opinion of coats is like Molly's opinion about nail clipping!! :D
This dog hates wearing anything!! I put on a coat or sweater and she stands there frozen like a statue. It's actually hysterical to watch her...head hangs and she doesn't move at all. So unless it's below 20 degrees with wind or there is precipitation she goes without a coat. I've never noticed that she shivers unless she gets wet.
Since she's a small dog I sometimes get the look  from other dog walking people...like I'm a bad mom for having my dog in the cold with no coat. She will just stand there barely move outside if she's wearing one and it only make the time out in the freezing cold longer for both of us!
Oh well...another bit of quirkiness from Trixie...what can you do!? ;)
How about that Molly...hogging the blankets!! :p I love her attitude...she know's who's boss!!! :D
Thanks for the link Sharlene -think I might need them as my tootsies were frozen at the rink today :(
So far Henry's view of coats is that they are another toy to chew - especially when he's wearing one! Not sure how he'll cope once he's had a haircut and the temperatures drop
So I guess boots are out of the question?
Susan
She thinks we've stopped her ability to walk if we put the booties on her. I've tried. She flops right over and won't stand up. I might give it another go this year though. :)
hugs,
Sharlene and Molly Muffin
OMG Trixie and Molly are a pair! LOL :D
I so needed this laugh today") I can picture them.
Sharlene:
Tipper will wear any type of clothing, and even doggles in the summer, but will not wear booties. She will act like she is walking on hot coals and walk holding one foot up at a time and alternating them until she falls over. I gave up and now use paw wax on her as her feet get so dry and cracked in the winter. It keeps her feet from drying out. What has Molly been up to? Blessings
Patti
It is nice to read that Molly is still up to her way of doing things. :D
I love watching dogs jump in leaf piles.. They get so excited! This is the best time of year.
If you try the booties again this year you have to post up some pix. I bet she is a hoot!
I have been missing the Molly stories.:D:D
Molly is such a little character, cracks me up as I can just picture her thinking she is paralysed with her booties on! :D:D
I don't know what I would have done without you this week Sharlene, you are such a voice of reason in tough times and I love your sense of fun to lighten a moment, you are one of the real treasures of this board and we are all the richer for your presence, even staying up till 1.30am, that is the sign of a true friend and I am glad to count you as one of those xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You've got to get a movie of Molly with the boots and post it . That is too funny.
Tia wasn't a fan of anything on her feet, she didn't even like you touching them she would pull them away like you had offended her. She cut her pad on her right back foot one year so I had to bandage it, she wouldn't walk, when I eventually got her going she would keep kicking out that back leg to try and get the bandage off the whole walk, took forever and we must have looked hilarious :)
Thank you for sharing your stories as you made me remember a happy memory of Tia and I do miss her antics xxx
Molly:
Get those boots on now it's going to snow!!!
Patti, I peeked outside and saw some small sand size particles of snow flying around!!!!!:eek:
Mel, it's the really funny hilarious things that make us laugh, smile and cry sometimes isn't it. That is so funny about Tia and her bandage. You definitely must have made an interesting pair on your walks.
Molly got a broken off pine needle in her paw one year that got infected (she was pretty young then 2 years old maybe) and she'd hobble around, do the back kick, lick at it, anything to get it off. I'd try not to laugh at some of antics and she hides if she gets in trouble, by hide, I mean goes into the other room to do the same thing she was getting in trouble for in the first room. Hubs and I will both look at her and say "molly, we can still see you, you know" and she'd huff and puff about it for awhile.
Now she is smarter though and if she gets a pine needle stuck in a paw (those pines are all over the place), she stops and hold her paw up till I remove the offending piece. No more bandages for her!! ROFL She does the same thing in the winter, if her foot needs to be cleaned and for a back one, she holds it straight out to be cleaned off. Not sure how she manages that, she isn't particularly graceful about it.
Yep, going to have to try some booties and video tape it. That should be interesting.
Awww Trish, I feel a mush coming on and still on first cup of java too! I wouldn't be anything but awake while you are going through something like that. Even had Hubs staying up and dozing on the couch. When I woke him, his first words was, "Is he okay now?" He might have just wanted to go to bed, but he knew that we had to know Flynn-Man was okay first. :p
I actually took a girl to task the other day on the street. She was pulling her dog, who was limping along on 3 good legs and one bad and she'd just pull and pull and pull, even though the dog was stopping and obviously having problems on the leg. I said, you need to go slow and take your dog home, this is too long of a walk and the leg needs to be checked out and seen to, something is wrong. She said, "oh she always does this" and I said," well, that Really isn't good is it. You are hurting her". Stupid kid. I haven't seen them walking on my street since then, but now I'm worried about her dog. Young dog too, goldendoodle it looked like. My first thought is an ACL tear. Hope they got it checked out.
I'm changing my foyer today. I've had it with looking in closets for scarfs and gloves and molly's coats when trying to go outside in the winter, so went and picked up a table last week that has some drawers in it. Now i have to find a place for the open table that is normally by the door. Hubs is suppose to pick up the new one after his physio appt today.
Then it is time to say adios to the rubber plant that is falling all over the place in the living room. Yep, I'm on a roll. Molly loves to help out when I do stuff like this too. She runs around and gets under foot and I have to stop and say, uh, molly move, you're in the way.
She particularly hates the vacuum snake and barks at it and runs and jumps over it, then barks some more. That's before we turn it on!
Okay, getting busy. Christmas shopping needs to be tackled too before any really horrid snow gets here!!!! Oh! speaking of christmas shopping! LOL where we? hahaha I found a cat puzzle the other day and ordered it for my stepdaughters cats. I think they'll love it. I also found a nice wooden gate that expands to the size of our entryway into the living room, so hopefully that will keep molly in that one room when we have any workmen here and she can't terrorize them.
Gots to run gang!
Hugs,
Sharlene and Molly Muffin
Sharlene:
It is doing a real lite snow here right now and the wind is atrocious. The sky is black, and the weather said we were on track for over a foot of snow. This should be real interesting Monday morning at 5:30 when we leave for Pittsburgh! Blessings
Patti
We had a brief few minutes of snow and then it stopped and sun is out. Nothing on the ground. Just cold and windy. I head on the Buffalo news last night though that down towards your area will probably be the largest amounts.
Failure on the table, we had to take it back. The nails screwed in from underneath and went in too far and caused a couple bubbles that would crack, so back to the store it went and they are ordering in another one. Molly attacked styrofoam all over the place though and had a great time. I'm sure she'll be ready to do it all over again real soon.
hang in there. Hopefully the roads will be clear by Monday morning. Just drive careful. I hate driving on bad roads. :(
hugs,
Sharlene and Molly Muffin
Ucky, just took Molly for a walk in the blowing snow. She seemed to love it but wasn't interested in going to far from the house. I think that north wind finally did her in, she still had her head stuck up in it though Addy. LOL
I am constantly watching the competition of my husband literally telling molly that "he is the alpha dog in our house" and her ignoring him, determined that she will be alpha, thank you very much. It's quite fun to see and I just say "yea, but remember who walks you and feeds you little miss, I am the Hunter/Gather that you best be respecting for your dinner". LOL She'll just sit and look at me politely. Hubs says it is not fair and I obviously don't realize that he is alpha either. hehehehehe Yes dear.
Those two can really amuse me. LOL
hugs all,
Sharlene and Molly Muffin
LOL Sharlene. The males always want to think that they are in charge, but that is rarely the case. :D I can just see your hubby having that conversation with Molly. Too dang funny! Xxxx
Sharlene:
As long as hubby feels that way, I would keep letting him think that way, even though you know better. Men are slow at catching on! He will never know you and Molly are really in charge. Blessings
Patti
love reading about the fun things.
Sonja and Angel Apollo.
Just wanted to stop by to thank you for all the support for Zoe.
It means a lot. I dont often post on your thread, not because I dont read or care about Molly, I just, well, it is always a happy time reading here so I find wordssometimes hard to come by:o:o:o
Addy
Big hugs to you and Zoe :-) I know you care :) We have been very lucky so far that Molly hasn't shown the normal symptoms of cushings. Long may it continue. I don't know if we are on borrowed time or if there is something else going on. I try to focus on the positive and what is good in her life. I figure that we don't know what the future will hold for us and one day we might be right there in scary territory.
If and when that day comes you can expect a basket case here more than likely.
It does make me feel better to know that if that day comes there will so much knowledge and support for us right here on this forum. She will have the best chance for me not to screw up and to make good decisions because of every one of you.
I am grateful every day for every single one of you. It is almost unbearable of thinking of any pain or heartache for those who have come to mean so much, both human and furry.
I admit that I have a tendacy to bottle up my worries and not show them much on the outside. I am therefore over all better probably at giving support. :-)
hugs

I just loved reading about dogs + boots as it reminded me of Hamish - we put a set of boots on him and he did the kicking out of different paws then a very odd walk around the lounge. I did try to video it, but it was kind of hard when we were falling about laughing and he was just looking at us in disgust :D
What I did find worked for him were the Paws boots which are just like unblown up balloons. I bought a pack of 12 thinking they may last a few walks each but then read a suggestion about patching any holes with duct tape so I ended up using 8 over an entire Winter and we were doing around 3-4 miles every day on hard packed snow / ice. I used to rinse them after each walk and only had to patch 2 of them. Unlike the proper boots he didn't even seem to notice them, and just walked quite happily with them on.
It will be interesting to see how Henry reacts as I've only just persuaded him to wear a coat out of doors  although he did love frolicking in the snow this morning and came indoors with a white beard ;)
Hi Sharlene,
Your post made me laugh...:D!! What did Molly have to say when your husband claims to be the alpha of the house!!?? I think I can guess. ;)
Trixie is an alpha girl to the max! Even lifts her leg thank you very much! We had a few snow showers here last night but nothing more. Trixie also points her nose way up in the air when it's cold. You think it's harder for them to smell in the cold? I was thinking it was that, or just trying to get a big whiff of the wind so she can "see" what's going on.
I have the same issue with cold weather gear and the foyer! I have tried every type of set-up...drawers, baskets, all kinds of bins to make it easier for getting on gloves, scarves, etc...nothing seems efficient. It all looks messy and I'm still searching for a glove or something when it's time to get out the door. I guess it's because when we all come in we rush to take it all off! I'm still working on this issue...maybe I'll figure something out before spring! :D:D
Stay warm!
Barbara
Hi Sharlene:
I suffer from the same thing, but you come out of my garage into the laundry room. So it is the place where all the dog coats are and the boots etc. I have tried everything to keep it neat so I got a coat rack for the wall and it had all the dog coats on that helps a lot. Are you freezing up there yet??? Blessings
Patti
Yep, pretty cold today. The wind was blowing pretty good and just cut right through the coat it seemed.
Our front door opens right into the foyer and house, so it's a challenge trying to keep it from looking messy, especially in the winter or rainy months, when there are boots everywhere it seems. We have a large coat closet there, but it seems to always be overflowing. Beats me how we can have so much for just us.
Sometimes Molly will bark at hubs when he starts in on his "who is alpha" routine and sometimes she will play growl at him. They do have some real contest of will though and he always wins when he is serious, but she seems to know when that time is too.
A bit of snow for tonight they said and then probably some tomorrow night too. We'll see. It can be real hit and miss sometimes.
hugs,
Sharlene and Molly Muffin
Bailey just wanted to say "ruff" to Molly. If we have to have your cold weather could you please also send the snow? At least we could have some fun in that or have it to look pretty.
Hugs!
Susan
Sharlene,
Happy Thanksgiving.
Sharlene,
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and Molly.:D
Hugs,
Susan
Ohhh that's funny we must have almost been in the hairdressers at the same time!! I could hardly see it had got so long at the front, so at least I am looking presentable to return to work next week!! My hairdresser gave me a Christmas present, a tiny bottle of hairspray which is excellent for when I travel!! Glad to hear your not scaring the neighbours any longer :D:D Have a lovely day with the family and Miss Muffin, we do not do thanksgiving, but can I request one pecan pie, one pumpkin pie and Flynn would like a taste of turkey as he has never had it (ohhh maybe a novel protein, or maybe its too close to chicken haha) xxx
Sharlene:
I see you do not do Thanksgiving so have a wonderful day anyway with Molly. It is in the teens here today and the dogs will not be walking. Blessings
Patti
