Re: Buddy, The Mighty Lizard Hunter (Buddy is Gone - crossing the rainbow bridge)
That would have made me cry too! Just reading your message left me with a lump in my throat. Our dogs have such a special place in our hearts--- forever!! It's okay to have a good cry anyway, you probably needed it..just glad you got the kids off to lunch and had a little time alone to let the tears flow.

Hi kathy
That must of been so tough. They bring so much happiness and fun but so much pain when they leave. I'm obviously missing Tom but it is 13 months since tam left and while I think about the good things with her rather than her leaving most days there are still days when tears come to my eyes.
They are amazing little creatures.

Some days are just harder than others. That book was bound to bring up feelings of what you have just gone though yourself. :(

Re: Buddy, The Mighty Lizard Hunter (Buddy is Gone - crossing the rainbow bridge)
One of the boys in my class (a major challenge;)) came up to me snickering when he entered class this morning and asked if I was going to cry in class today. I looked at him right in the eyes and said that it all depends on how well he behaves. He then went to his seat and sat down quietly. That was a first!:D xxxx

Oh Kathy, Reading that story must have been so hard. Just reading your post made me cry.
Big Hugs

Hi Kathy, that story just might be a life's lesson, especially for the boy that asked if you were going to cry again.
I'll bet that they remember that moment for a long time, and if not it will come back to them later in life especially when they have kids of their own and pets.
Just goes to show them that teachers have emotions too, and it is something that I know I'd look back on in later years.
Hugs to you!

Kathy:
What a little stinker he is!! I bet you can always count on him for some devilment. I think it was wonderful what the class learned from you that day, and that they will have compassion for all God's creatures. You became really human to them, instead of just their teacher when they saw your emotions, and that is a good thing. Not that you aren't, but they probably look at you differently now for the better. I would venture to say they have a most wonderful teacher. Blessings

Re: Buddy, The Mighty Lizard Hunter (Buddy is Gone - crossing the rainbow bridge)
Why are there so many clueless, insensitive people out there? Several people have commented about Rosie (or puppies in general) replacing the one that was lost. Yes, I have Rosie now. However, she will NEVER replace Buddy, as he is irreplaceable. I still miss him as much as ever.:o
Re: Buddy, The Mighty Lizard Hunter (Buddy is Gone - crossing the rainbow bridge)
Of course Buddy is irreplaceable. Just looking at his avatar photo...the cutie. I miss hearing about him.
