I'm so glad that Molly is doing well with the laser treatments.
She's walking a bit slower tonight and not anxious to jump, so I think she is probably having some pain.
As my husband said, you can't expect a disc injury to just be healed in a week usually. Give it time. Tomorrow laser and reevaluation on where she is and if she will restart pain meds on Tuesday.
Dinner spot reserved :)

Good I,ll book the flight :). When Woody done his discs in roughly the same place as Molly (middle to end) he took 6 wks before he was healed although the meds made him feel like he was fine, so your hubs is right. Although if your like me i watched his every move for months afterwards as I was paranoid he,d hurt it again, but he never did :D
Sharlene:
I am so glad the cold laser is helping Molly. It has done a lot for Tipper. I hope she continues to improve. It is a shame more places don't have it so our cush moms would have this available to them. Blessings

Sharlene, you've always been so wonderful to post in Elliott's thread. I'm so sorry I haven't done a better job following Molly's. I hope she's feeling better. I appreciate a dog with feistiness--always a good sign I think :) When E was being a brat, then I knew all was right with the world :)
Hi Jen. Molly has feistiness in abundance normally. Not so much right now.
I took her in this morning for her laser treatment and the vet was planning to evaluate her to see if she needs the meds tomorrow again or not. Molly of course was trying to run around. Turns out the vet is sick, the vet tech did the therapy, so I wasn't able to talk to the vet.
They called later and said that they spoke with the vet and she said that if molly was doing okay that she didn't have to take the anti inflammatory med this week and she would evaluate her on thursday when she goes in for the next laser treatment.
I thought earlier at the vet that she didn't need them and she doesn't act like her back bothers her at all, but I'm noticing today that her hip and leg seem to be bothering her. It didn't seem to be before the therapy but now she is being a bit tender on her bad leg and the other leg seems to be doing a lot of the support. I actually don't know if this is related to the back so much as it is related to her non existent hip joint.
I did put in to my work today that I would be working from home for as long as Molly needs me to be here, and that might be six weeks or whatever. So that at least is not a worry right now. I don't even want to leave to go get groceries or anything else unless my husband is here to watch her.
Anyway, I've decided that she does need to continue on the anti inflammatory and I want to make sure that it is my vet that does the treatments. I'm actually a bit more depressed about things tonight.
Plus, I know that the back injury has made her cortisol levels go up, as she is drinking more and always wants food. Not things that have ever been active with her. It makes perfect sense though. If you have an injury, the body responds by producing cortisol. *sigh*

(((((hugs)))))
Gave molly the anti inflammatory med today.
She is not feeling good. Had what could have been a gastro reaction to it (acid reflux?)
How much pepcid ac would you give a 19lb dog? 5mg?
She has been laying around all afternoon, not herself, her back legs are bothering her for sure, but I don't know if it was something they did during laser treatment or if it is because of her back.
She is just Not her molly self. Which you all know what molly is normally like and even the first week after she hurt her back she was better than this. Now she barely wants to move. Not even to come to the kitchen when we are cooking. :(
I'm hoping that this clears up and I might have JUST got a good sign while typing this, she walked over here to me and is wagging her tail giving me the humph, humph, pay attention to me sign. She hasn't done that All day! I'm going to go give her some loving. ;)

Sending positive back-healing thoughts Molly's way.
Pepcid AC didn't help Buddy. I had to switch to SEB. His dosage was 1/2 tab. (10 mg. tab.) up to 2 times per day. He weighed 16 lbs. 5mg. should be fine for Molly. I hope she's better soon. Xxxxx
