To all my old friends here;
My house has gotten its soul back. As you know I lost Kenai in October and Nike the Oct before. My house and my heart have been very lonely. Well that changed Monday. I got a puppy, his name is Jagger and he is a Black Russian Terrier and I am in love already. His breeder is in Tampa but his co owners are from MO they are the people I have delt with. The co owner went to tampa sunday and picked out 2 puppies and I met him at the Tampa airport monday at 9 am, I flew from Asheville earlier. He had 2 puppies for me to choose from he had spent the past day with them so I asked his opinion and got my puppy. He is a trip. He is 10 weeks old tomorrow, weighs 14 lbs. He has visited Dr Earley yesterday and is in excellent health. Dr E has not seen a Black Russian so was amazed at his long legs, me to. Dr E took him into the back and let the girls love on him and love on him and love on him. He is going to be between 120 and 140 lbs, his temperament is excellent he is not shy but not to assertive either. He has 2 speeds run/play and sleep with lots of time for peeing, I forgot how often a puppy can pee....but I am learning.
I am so glad to have another puppy in the house. I miss Nike and Kenai so much, I took Kenais ashes home and barred him beside Nike in our pet cemetery at my parents in Alberta Canada.
I changed my aviator and will add a couple pics to my album of him its hard to get good pics of a black puppy especially when he doesn't sit still for anything.
Just wanted to let those of you that I am not in constant contact with that all is right with the world again, almost.
love from
Sharon and Jagger and always HRH Nike and "Demon Spawn" Kenai.
A new puppy will definitely give a house soul. I am so happy for you:)
I can't wait to see pictures:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
The puppy club on Everything Else is always hopping with puppy escapades and we all love reading about them so don't be shy.
Nlow I am off to look up Black Russian Terriers as I don't know that breed and can't wait to check it out.
hugs,
Addy, Zoe and Koko

Sharon,
Very cute!!!! Pups you can't live without them and sometimes you wish you could. I tell people Ella is up for adoption at least once a week--they are a handful, but so cute and loving.
My neighbors have a Jagger dog. I asked if he was a good watch dog and they laughed and said he would love them to death if someone broke in...:D
Have fun and yes the house has soul back...and love! You are a family again...:)

Sharon - CONGRATS!! Wow, I am so happy for you. Jagger couldn't have found himself a better mommy! I, too, am unfamiliar with this breed but does look similar to giant schnauzers - at least to me. How big will Jagger get?? I decided to downsize after Zoe because it became so difficult to get her into the car at the end. I could not lift her 80+ lbs in her later years and so Cooky, at 48 lbs, is much more do-able! We now have another too - Friskee - a 14 yr. old yellow lab mix who is a bit taller than Cooky, but very lean. So she also weighs 48 lbs. I'm pretty sure I could lift her too, if I had to. I still have the image in my brain of your escapades with getting Nike and/or Kenai into the car - or was it a truck? Hope to see more pictures. Sue, Cooky, Friskee (and Zoesmom forever)

Thanks, He is a sweetheart. It was the DDAVP nasal spray and I also remember it like it was yesterday too:rolleyes: She was one strong dog....to strong for me.
He is going outside to pee and poop almost always unless I am to slow, he comes when he is called, and slept through the night last night:) life is good.... today. He met the neighbor kids yesterday and played with them they were not little kids but 8 -14 so were rolling on the ground with him and he loved it.
added a couple pics of him helping me with housework????

Hi All. Just wanted to stop by and say hi and let you know Jagger and I are doing well. He is a real sweetheart. Jagger is about 5.5 months old now and is 60 lbs. He has gone through puppy school and beginners ones and is doing great. I will try to download more pics of him. I have been taking him to the vets about every 2 week to get use to being there and get the techs to take him in the back so he goes without getting any owies so he's not scared to go and he loves it he gets lovens and attention and loves that more than treats. I still have the neighbor kids come and let him out on days I work that is working great he loves them and they play with him which gets him used to kids and he will know someone that can come and let him out if I am stuck at the hospital over night due to code disaster. I think Nike and Kenai are whispering to him as he loves getting his butt scratched while I'm On the can like Kenai did and when he wakes me up to go out he stamps his feet and does a very low woof almost a hufff like Nike always did
Not sure if I am going to show him or if I am going to fix him at a year. Have to wait till he's a year per my contract and I want to have someone that knows what they are doing to see him and let me know if he is show material.
I have been great work has been very busy, not picking up many extras just doing my reg 3 and spending my off days enjoying my puppy.
I hope all is well with all my friends here and Happy Holidays to all.

Oh Sharon, it is wonderful to hear from you and to read your update on Jagger! He sounds like such a sweetheart :o. There is nothing that keeps us so young (or sometimes feeling so old!) as having an energetic child in the house. Treasure these days, as I know you do. You are building more beautiful memories with your sweet boy.
Wishing you both well, and hoping that you'll stop by again soon with those new pictures and some more stories.
With my best wishes, always.

Just posted new pics of Jagger. He gave me a scare,Friday night, i found him chewing on a pill bottle that had some meloxicam (Mobic) Pills were on the deck. Apparently 2 mg/kg could be kidney toxic so I wasnt sure that he didnt eat any so took him to REACH which is an emergency vet clinic, THey induced vomiting and gave him charcoal, then kept him for a couple days to give him fluids to keep kidneys clean ( 6) liters. Picked him up Sunday. Had to work Saturday didnt get home from the clinic till 0130 and up at 0430. loooong day. We went and saw Dr Earley yesterday for a followup and he drew a NSAID tox panel which had kidney and liver function tests. He called me this AM and said all is normal. So my house was puppy proofed but now its adolescent proofed. All meds are up in the cupboard instead of on top of it. I dont know if he got it off the counter or if I knocked it off and on to his bed so I didnt hear it hit the floor.
I dont think he ate any as he is not a chow hound, he will leave a beggon strip on the floor for days. He loves chewing on water bottles so I think he got the bottle, took it outside, chewed on it and the top popped off, as he chewed the pills fell out and he brought the bottle in on to his bed. But could not be sure he didnt injest any and all he would have had to eat was 5 to get into kidney failure.
Anyway so that is the update on us. There are a few of my fav pictures.

I love the new pics too and am relieved that Jagger is okay after that scarey incident.:eek::eek: I can only imagine how much attention you get when you are out about with him. No doubt he and the beautiful Briard together really draw a crowd, yes?
It's been way too long since you checked in with us, Sharon. Try not to be a stranger because we love you and want to know how you and your guy is doing.
Hugs,

Just a quick note to wish all a very Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. Jagger and I are doing great. I cant believe how much having him has brought me back to being me. He is a real joy, even when he is a turd :) After losing Nike and Kenai when he is into something I think to myself will I remember this tomorrow or next week? if yes he gets his butt kicked ( so to speak ) if not I laugh at is puppy antics, He just tore out 4 of my junipers I just planted this summer, that I decided I would remember and he got his ass kicked ( So to speak) :p. He is 68 lbs as of yesterday and is growing up so fast, dont know where my little puppy went that I could pick up and cuddle. He is a lover and likes to cuddle and LOVES praise more than treats, he is not a food hound, sometimes will leave a beggon strip on the floor for a day or two. But tell him he is a good boy and he is all over you. I take him to the vets about once every two weeks or so to get desensitized. to being taken from me and going back with the staff, he does great they take him back and try to give him treats which most of the time he ignores and wants the attention, and gets it.
Well I hope this finds you all well and all your cush pups in a good place, I was there once and having this place to come for advice and friendship saved my sanity and kept my cush pup with me for 4 years.
All the best to you all in the new year
Hugs to you and yours from me and mine.
