Hi everyone.
I would like to start a thread for my best friend's Shih Tzu, who was just diagnosed with adrenal cushings, and he is going to have surgery. I would like to set up her own thread with her own log in. How do I do it?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Terri,
This is sweet of you to do this for your friend!
The only way I can think of is if you register as her - set up an acct. just like you did for Corky and let her tell you the user name to use, assign a very simply password - tell her to change it so she has access if she wants to. She can fill in the info at a later date if she wishes.
Then she will start a thread in the Q&D to tell about her baby...that way the thread is under her new user name and not yours.
That's all I can offer....hope it helps! I look forward to meeting her!
Hugs,
Leslie
PS. I am a techno-idiot so there may be some reason that you couldn't set up two accts from one computer...but I dunno. Hopefully, one of our gurus will let us know about all this.

Thanks Leslie.
I might have to log out of my account in order to do this, or I'll try using a search engine and do it that way. I'll work on it.
The search engine didn't work. When I clicked on the web site, it took me right back to my log in. :-(

It worked for me just now....here's what I did -
I logged out; clicked on the logo at the upper left which took me to the forum homepage and from there, clicked "register" at the upper left. The registration process opened.
See if that will work. I am on Firefox browser if that matters. ;)

Terri, forum registration is set up so that only one membership can be associated with any single email address. So if you try to set up a membership on behalf of your friend, it would have to be under a different email address than the one you are already using for yourself. Also, it is important that the email address that is given is one that will actually be regularly checked, so that membership confirmation and other communications will be received and responded to.
It will probably be easier, all the way around, if she can set up the registration herself after you've coached her as to what to do. Or if not, for you to supply her email address during the registration process so it will be the address that is on file for her username. However, if necessary, it is always possible to change an email address and/or password down the road after the registration has been originally completed.
